Are the crowds huge or is it managable? Does it clear out right after the holiday on Monday or is it bad all week? Thanks so much.:)

We were there for Columbus Day weekend in '02, and the crowds didn't seem that bad, even at MK. In fact, we'll be back that weekend this year for our 10th anniversay!

We were there in 2000 from Sun- Wed and I swore we would never go then again. It was mobbed and we had record low temps(stores in MK ran out of sweatshirts one morning). With that said, I probably would go back then if it were the only time I could go(we are actually cruising then in 05), but that is just because since then we have started going a lot more regularly so I dont feel the need to do everything...we even went over Christmas this year. ;) However if this were a one time visit I wouldnt go then.

We went during Columbus day week in 2002 and 2003. 2002 wasn't much of a problem. This past trip however they had run the special deal 7 for 4 and it was so crowded!! The weekend was super busy and during the week was less but the CM's at our resort said that WDW resorts were sold out.

It was crowded, but nothing I'm sure like spring break weeks or holidays are....definitely do-able.

I went a few years ago (10/2000, iirc) over Columbus Day weekend and it was a bit crowded but not too bad. We had no trouble doing the rides and attractions we wanted but at some points just walking around and the parades/fireworks were very busy.

Since the girls are in higher grades of elementary school now going low season isn't an option. We have done late august - pretty good, feb vacation - crowded but manageable and Veterans day - IMHO the most crowded!

We will be joining the Columbus day crowds this year due to teacher conference and town issues we ended up with a 5 day weekend. I plan on taking it slow and doing mk before and after the weekend with MNSSHP on either Friday or Sunday depending on the schedule. We love to visit Epcot in the evenings and having the F&W is a great bonus.

Thanks> I was concerned because DD will miss a week of first grade if we go next oct. I don't see it as a problem but the school might. She is so smart that a few days won't hurt a thing. I was thinking of the long weekend only to cut back on the days away from school. Something to think about I guess.

We went that week in 2001 & 2003. 2001 wasn't bad at all, 2003 was a different story, due to FL schools began a Fall break that year. ( We were told that by many people, also it was obvious that something was going on because of all the KIDS! I hadn't expected to see so many during the school year.)It isn't like Christmas and New Year's, but it was almost as crowded as summer. It wouldn't stop me from going though, although if I'm looking for small crowds I will go at a different time.

We went the week leading up to and including CD weekend, 2003. Very low crowds thru Th; MGM was very crowded on Fri (at least to us who have only been in slow season); and AK on Sat was slightly crowded.
Oh, I forgot we also went to Epcot Sat. night, and it was not crowded at all but we were only there for the last hour by the time we finished dinner.
