Who has an engraved walk around the world brick?

Considering my situation, I'd love it if Disney would yank mine up(read above post). In fact, since this thread started, I've been wondering if I could pay them to take it out! Maybe I'll only have to wait two more years and they'll do it for free. LOL.

You are all so lucky to have your very own bricks at WDW! And to Mike/banks37, I specifically remember seeing a brick with the name Becca on it during my many walks from the Poly to TTC. I wonder if it was yours and Becca's?! I'll have to check next time down. I guess I'll have lots of disboard bricks to look for!

There is so much interest that I wish that they would again begin selling the engraved bricks. There are a lot of lonely, unengraved bricks out there. My husb kept joking that we'd bring an engraving next time and make our own! :)

Interesting that you started this thread. I was just thinking how the "10 years" is up and hoping that they'll keep the bricks there forever! ;)

Come to think of it... :scratchin I am pretty sure that one of the bricks next to ours has a Becca on it! I'll see if I can tell in my photos at home! That would be such a cowinkydink!! :teeth:

We know the person in charge of Resort Engineering who takes care of the bricks and what Steve said is correct with them just not being able to guarantee it would be removed or relocated after 10 years. There are no plans to take them out. You can have them replaced or changed for $50 but they stopped taking orders in July 2000. I had one made to propose in 2000 and we had it replaced in 2001. Any damaged bricks should be automatically replaced. We actually have our original brick in our back yard. They are not supposed to give them to you but they only get thrown out when replaced so I got a gift from WDW. Ours is located just under the monorail track to Epcot at the TTC behind where the line forms for tickets, towards the little store.

I think ours might be not far from disneysteve's. It's in front of the MK, to the right, under the monorail tracks, and it's 9 bricks in from the litepost, #E06853.

Going to check in a couple weeks, see how many of my fellow DISers' bricks I find!

I sure wish they would start selling these again. I have noticed quite a few blank bricks on my visits. I would LOVE to have one. I remember a while back that there was a rumor that they were going to start selling them again, then it just went away. If they sell more, I'll be first in line! :earsgirl:

Tikiman,
You have given me hope! Can you tell me who I would contact at WDW to have my brick changed? I would happily pay the $50 to have one made with my current name, and without my ex-husbands name on it. I think that would make the new hubby happy, too. :Pinkbounc
I looked and looked on line yesterday for a number to call about the durn thing, and could not find one.

Our brick is over at the Polynesian near luau cove. I thought it was appropriate since the Poly is my favorite resort. We check every visit to make sure it's still there and take a picture.

I really liked the bricks. The ones by the wedding pavilion are really pretty.

Aimfred,

The name any number I have I can not give out but you can call the main WDW number and ask for Magic Kingdom Merchandise. They handle the purchase and if they still offer the replacements they can take care of it. It does take a while since they have so many to replace and still some to install (believe it or not).

Aloha

Steve

Aimfred,

I was in the same situation as you and was able to have mine replaced. This was just before they stopped selling them though - so I started the process at the booth in front of MK where they were selling them.

One problem you might encounter though - according to their records, my ex-DH was the one who bought the brick. And they gave me a very a hard time about changing it. The first year of selling the bricks, they took all the paperwork, sent it out to be put on microfilm. Well, the microfilm was unreadable and they had already trashed the hard copies!

I was the one who bought the brick. I was a CM and got my discount - so I HAD to be the one to purchase it! After going round and round with them, they let me replace it - telling me that my DH had every right to replace my brick down the road if he tried to do it. Ugh!

Good Luck!
Kristi
