I had it at a restaurant in Chicago, where it was better then anywhere else. It was thick and chunky with bits of tomato and had a fresh taste, not strong.

I don't mearsure and the amounts all depend on the mood I am in and how good my avocado's tomatoes and onions are

Avacado .... mash up 1/2 and chop the other
mix in one tablespoon sour cream
one small chopped tomato and 1/2 a small onion
salt and red pepper to taste
fresh cilantro if on hand a little chopped garlic.

I think the secret is chopping 1/2 the avocado and adding the sour cream

use
Avocado 1 or 2
Salsa 1/2c.
sour cream I just add by spoonfuls
garlic salt/powder (which ever you prefer) teaspoon

Yummy!

Friend from Texas made guacamole for me

He made it pretty much how shayln was discussing.
Except instead of the sour cream he used mayonaise.

It was to DIE for! :)

I'll have to find the name. But I think it is in Orland Park. Just a little mom and pop place that is always crowded and good. I'll ask dh.

4 RIPE avocados, pitted and mashed
add the following:
3 tablespoons salsa(not too much juice)
2tsp crushed garlic
1-2tsp red pepper flakes
1tablespoon lime/lemon juice
garlic salt, pepper- to taste.
Hot sauce/tabasco sauce.. to taste.
serve immed. in a glass bowl
if you are waiting to serve, place pit in center sprinkle with lemon juice, cover tightly with plastic wrap refrigerate for less than 6 hours.

Good Guac should be eaten- not stored...
