Hello everyone...


So I woke up this morning to very puffy eyes. I think I'm having an allergic reaction to something. I don't know what. My eyes are really really puffy and I look so silly. They were filling kind of itchy and I did rub them. I have not eaten anything or touched anything so I don't know what it could be. I have a slight headache.

DH had to work today and the boys are sooo loud with their playing.... I took some benedryl to get rid of the itchy but the puffiness is still there. What's wrong with my eyes? Could this be stress??

Cally ~~~~~~ does your throat feel itchy or scratchy at all????

Do you have any rashes/hives on your arms/legs/body????

It does sound like it could be an allergic reaction to something. My son has a life threatening allergy to peanuts and his eyes will swell and his throat will close when he comes into contact with peanuts.

Have you changed soaps or shampoos , anything along that line lately?????

Something could have bitten you in the night maybe that you are not aware of.

Please watch yourself carefully. If your throat starts to feel funny then you really should get yourself to the emergency room quickly.

The benedryl will help some at least.

Hey Robin, thanks, I feel better now. My throat was not itchy or scratchy (thank goodness).

All I can think of is the week after Thanksgiving I started to use a new facial scrub (Nutrogena). But why would it just effect me now...I've been using it almost everyday. Well I did not use any today and probably will not use it again. I do not have any hives or rashes anywhere ..

The swelling is down but my face feels tight. Headaches are gone... Hopefully I'll be fully recovered by tomorrow...

Allergies can develop at any time, even if you have been using a product for years or eating a certain food all of your life.

Sometimes too, allergies can show up when certain things are combined together. Eg. eating 2 types of food together. You can also be allergic to a raw food but can eat the same food that is cooked. You just never know.

I am glad that you are feeling better now. Hopefully whatever caused the swelling was just a one time thing and it won't happen again.

Lovely wintery morning here, the snow is falling gently....... the ground is covered with snow and I need to go out and fill the bird feeders
