Just thinking about montessori and thought I would play our theme song as a tribute for her.

Kim I think the words are just perfect to this song as they are. Of course we need to have Brer_Papa's new verse added onto the end of it.::yes::

Well...I have 2 kids with Birthdays todaysame day....5 years apart...

WishinStar and Ern...the DS in FL....

she is a beautiful ship...really! Me and some Grandkids have spent many pleasureable moments aboard her...and at our Maritime Museum...

Hello HollyAnn! :wave2:
(Do you think Harriet made Ricky watch cutesy-wootsie movies?)

Nope...a cutesy-wootsy movie is not my kryptonite...just makes it easier to mow the back hair... :rotfl: :rotfl:

aaaah...I bet the kookie monkey wil be a huge hit....little ones tend to think so...

15 clams? Dang! That's more than I won at the 2 week...or was that 4 hour...bingo-fest I got dragged to...i mean invited to...

after I catch up to my run-away-off-the- ride-as-soon-as-it-stops family members....they stand around shaking their heads from side to side...welll except for WishingStar...she has her own little ditty...

she puts her chin in her chest and shakes her head from side to side...

OK!...on my way for FREE FOOD!

PSSST! Hey Lurkers...I can't beleve not a single one of you ever went to Discovery Island...Come on out...say hi...

it won't hurt...look at me..the shyest one of the bunch...and I'm posting...

:wave2: Brer_Papa

I hope you enjoyed celebrating your children's birthdays. Did you eat a piece of cake for your son in Florida :p I hope that you wished WishingStar a Happy Birthday from the Thread-Killers.

WishingStar if you are lurking around.............. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 :rotfl:  shyest one of the bunch !!!!!!!!!!!!! That's a funny one

WDW oddity??? every time I drive through the parking lots I am looking for licence plates from different states and provinces!!!! I like to keep track of how many different ones I see when I am on a trip like that!!!

Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

& ice cream....2 flavors...

and yes...::yes:: , Birthday wishes were extended from the Thread-Killers to oth kids.......

as well as telling them about Montessori...they didn't know....

Ern and his DW were going to see a movie...then they were to dine @ Dixie Stampede...

on your WDW oddity.....what is the most difficult lower 48 state plate to see / find?

and....which plate design do you thnk s preetiest or most impressive...

Good Evening Threadkillers!

I'm signing off for the night at 9:30. I've got some sunflower seeds, a bottle of water and a good book waiting for me!

It sounds like you had a nice party BrerPapa. I love birthdays! I'm hitting the big 40 and can hardly wait! Birthdays are just the best!

Well, ya'll take care and enjoy. Cruisin, I just have a plain ole Florida plate, I imagine you see a lot of those at WDW! haha

Nighty night Threadkillers and lurkers! Annie

Edited: BP, your post regarding Oh Night by Martina McBride reminds me that a friend borrowed my Martina McBride Christmas Album......and she moved to Arizona! I guess I'll have to buy another one!

:wave2: Good night Hollyann. 40:earseek: , oh to be young again ::yes:: :teeth:

I like birthdays too, .............. it sure beats the alternative ;)

Yes, you sure do see lots of Florida plates when you are at WDW:tongue:

 Brer_Papa, a piece of cake sure sounds good right about now. I haven't had cake in quite a while. What flavour was it????

Do your son and daughter in law work at a specific park or do they move around? I will have to ask some questions before I go next time, maybe I will see one or the other of them there ;)

I have seen all of the different state plates (well the only one from Hawaii I saw was the one my friend found in the recycling depot here ;) ) Some of the harder ones to spot are from the smaller states such as Rhode Island, Delaware. Also District of Columbia is quite rare to see. As for the prettiest one, that is hard to pick, North Dakota, Arizona, New Mexico are all nice ones.

I don't know if you have ever noticed but most U-Haul vehicles have Arizona plates on them. There was one parked on our street this week with Arizona plates too.::yes::

Ahoy again Cruisin' :boat:

The cake was chocolate with Peanut butter icing...it was yummy.....

the ice creams were chocolate chip mint and banana split....

aaaah....the plates....yes...Ihave noticed the AZ plates on U-Hauls...

Now, I am not as bservant as you...but what you said about the smaller plates makes sense...

I'm not real impressed with our PA plates....even though, there are theme plates that are quite impressive...they include Zoos....Railroad...the Niagara.....Wildlife...a D.A.R.E plate....

and additionally, there are the organization plates..like the Disabled Vets, the purple Hearts....ducks unlimited...colleges/universities...

plus, there are Classic Car plates...antique plates...Sreet Rod...and Customized Vehicle...

all legal PA plates....i suppose other states have similar....

you ever see any like those?

I would also say...there was a bit of a hubbub about the Niagara plate...law enforcement said the letters/numbers are too hard to read....but...they are stil out there...

Night HollyAnn!
(Does anyone else notice HollyAnn and Harriet Nelson keep about the same hours?)

40? You're a young'n.... :)

yes..Birthdays are fun...and mine is even more fun every 6 years....when it falls on Thanksgiving Day....like this year....

uh oh...lost your Martina McBride Christmas record? That girl can flat out sing....

PSSST! Hey Lurkers....you have any special performer that you listen to singing Yuletide songs?

/
yum, chocolate cake is good. The peanut butter icing is out though. My son has a peanut allergy, so unless I am away from him for a period of time, I also don't eat peanut products (just to be safe and avoid possible exposure for him!!) Now, when we travel without him I take advantage and have my peanut fix!!

I wonder why all U-Hauls have Arizona plates on them

Most of the PA plates I see are the ones with the blue stripe at the top and the yellow stripe at the bottom, or the old blue style ones. Lots of states have lots of different styles of plates. It makes watching for them on the highway quite interesting. You think that you see a new state but it is just a different looking plate from a state you have already seen before.

Corporate office located there? Cheaper fees? Not sure really.

:wave2: everyone! 'Nite Annie!! ;)

:bday: :cake: to two of BP's offspring! I'll bet those dual-parties growing up was no piece of cake!! BWAHAHAHA....BAD joke. Sorry. :o

Thanks for the heads-up BP about the USS Niagara. I can't make the 12th, and haven't been invited either, but I'll see how long it'll be here. Something new for us to see, that's for sure. I assume it'll be docked at Navy Pier.

Not much going on around here, just the regular, mundane stuff. Doctor for DS today, dentist for me tomorrow, 2 parties for DD to attend on Sat., dentist for both kids next week, and the WIGGLES concert next Sat also, with a DISer and his family, and my SIL & niece also. Should be fun. Reminds me, I need to contact that DISer and make lunch or dinner plans!

Quick question to anyone with an opinion..............Would you leave your behaved 6yo in the waiting room while you were "in the chair"? Today I sat with her during DS's appt., but left her briefly when the Dr. wanted to speak to me. Tomorrow tho, it's MY appt. and the time involved could be 15-30 mins. I think. :( Probably not, huh? Better call Gramma first thing in the AM. TIA

I don't know if I would leave a 6yo in the waiting room for that length of time. What if she got scared and got panicky? Is there a receptionist who looks out over the room and could sort of keep an eye on her?

If Gramma can't take her, what about bringing her into the room with you and having her sit in a corner somewhere with some sort of amusement to keep her occupied. It is not that long of a time to wait. Maybe some books or colouring books, Barbies etc. whatever interests her. Only if you think she could do it without "bothering" you while you were busy ;)

Sounds like you are having some busy days Kim!

Hey there guys and gals!

ok.. the secret will come out now...mamajoan adores JOHNNY MATHIS at Christmastime!!!!!

ok.. my big news today..

I purchased a dress for daughters wedding in Sept... and it is a designer piece... I have never spent this much on a dress.. holy cow.. I have never spent this much on 3 dresses... It was over $600 for a dress and long jacket.... it is custom fitted etc.. and of course mj got the ''good stuff'' fabric.. and it is two pieces that I will again and again....but whew!! I almost hyperventilated when I saw the bill.. .....:earseek:.. I am gonna look GOOOOOD!!! LOL

Did someone say CAKE?!! YUM!!
Happy 40th Hollyann!!

My favorite CA lic. Plates have a sunset and Surfer on them..
my CA. plates have the lovely blue w/c gomer on them! YEE HAA!

Kim..... MORE WIGGLES? Girl I am gonna check you for WIGGLES TATTOOS!!!
a True sign of a Wiggles groupie....... LOL

:wave2: mamajoan

I am glad that you found an "ensemble" that suits you and makes you feel special for your daughter's wedding. Forget the price tag and enjoy the way you feel in your new outfit. ::yes::

I have not seen the CA plates that you describe with the sunset and the surfer on them yet. I guess I will have to come to CA and look for them

Robin, we've been busy all summer, and I love it! I HATE that the kids are going back in 3 weeks! I loved this summer with them! And there's still sooo much more I wanted to do!! It's gone SOOOOO fast!! (YUCK! That also means I go back to work in a month!)

I know you're right about the waiting room and the length of time. And I know from past conversations that the 'receptionist' doesn't like to be presumed as a babysitter. DD would be much better off with my Mom. It's just that I'll blow the WHOLE day between dropping her off, picking her up, and of course, staying around to 'visit' myself. :p DS was supposed to be home, but he got an opportunity to go to Michigan with friends and stay in a 'supposed' haunted house belonging to one kid's grandparents. DS loves to do filming and thought this was a great location, so I let him go. Therefore, no watchful eye for DD tomorrow. I hope Gramma is home when I call!

Geesh, I took so long posting that I missed MJ!!!

Well at least now I don't feel so bad about the $300 you had me spend last fall!!! :earseek: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You'll look DEEE-VINE, my dear friend!!! :cutie: ::yes:: Just don't upstage Anna, ok? ;)

We have been very busy too this summer.

I thought at 17 my daughter would be getting past all of the stuff she does. But no, she has been dancing 3 nights a week, riding horses one night a week all summer(last night for riding tonight!). That along with all of the dance performances they have been doing has made it a busy summer of running around for me.

She also worked for most of June and all of July running a hot dog wagon with her cousin. So that meant dropping off and picking up from that too.

She has no license, so mom has to take her where she needs to go. Not that I mind really because it won't be long and there will be no more children that want mom to take them anywhere :( I am enjoying it while I still can ::yes::

Lordy Kim with your new figure we could do some SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE CREDIT CARD this year!!!!

And thank you all for thinking I will look divine.

I am sooo excited about this wedding..

Ben's Bachelor party is in Chicago this wkd.... so look out in the Windy City.... silly men will be wandering about!

And you all come to CALIFORNIA... any old time!!

Robin.. way cool job your dtr has.... the hot dog cart probably brings around some interesting people.

Oh yeah. There have been some interesting people all right.

One day I was dropping the girls off so they could get started for the day. We watched this lady walking down the sidewalk towards us while we were still in the car. She was gesturing and talking to herself etc.

Well, we made the mistake of getting out of the car just as she was walking by us. She looked at my niece and daughter and said "Jesus loves you" which was fine in and of itself. But then she took a better look at my niece who happens to have tons (too many in my opinion) of piercings and interesting coloured hair.

Well this lady starts shaking her fists and yelling at my niece, "Jesus, save this girl from what Satan has done to her" :earseek:, and other things along the same lines. Then she continued on her way down the sidewalk waving and talking to herself. She scared the wits out of all three of us!!!

I saw her twice in the next hour, walking in other areas, still gesturing and yelling. My son has an ambulance/fire scanner and they were called to a distraught woman shouting obscenities and trying to attack people with a pair of garden hedge clippers  It was right in the area that I had last seen this lady.!!!!!!!!

So yeah, they have "met" some interesting people this summer

;)

Hey there Threadkillers!

It's been quiet on this thread today! It's 7pm and I just now posting, too! I've had a typical day. Woke up, walked with hubby, went to b'fast together. Met our daughter at the Pediatricians office today. She is too tenderhearted to hold her baby when they give him a shot, so hubby holds him for her. I was there for moral support!

Anyway, had lunch, nap, reading, dinner, Tom's at a meeting (he's also volunteering with his political party - posting signs - they need someone willing to dig post holes!) and then I'm going to read and back to bed!

Oh, yeah, I'm doing laundry, too. Didn't get it done yesterday! Well, the clothes are ready. I'll check back on ya'll. Hope you're having a great day! Since hubby is out tonight, I think I'll put on a movie that he wouldn't watch. Either a Christmas movie, or a classic. I think I'm in the mood for Cary Grant!

Ya'll take care and have a great evening! A

 Hollyann

Sounds like you have had a full day as usual.

It is quite chilly here today! It is also very very windy which makes it feel a lot cooler too. It is amazing how the weather can change from one day to the next so drastically. I don't think it got much higher than 62 all day but just a few days ago we were up in the 90's

I called my husband at work this morning to remind him that it was pay day and to put the paycheques out for the guys (I made them up yesterday, but didn't go to work today :teeth: ) It was close to lunch time, so he asked me to go out to Wendy's with him for lunch :D

It is our 25th anniversary this year and I am trying to talk him into taking some sort of vacation. It will probably be a long weekend but heck anything is better than nothing, right!!!

:wave2: How is everyone else doing today.

Do we have any lurkers, lurking around here tonight?????? If so don't be shy, speak up, we always make room for new friends ::yes:: :sunny:
