I have never heard of that before. It sounds like it could be an interesting, fun game though.

I hope you have a fun night Hollyann.

Hi Brer_Papa, it sounds like you have had a very "full-filling" weekend :p

Filled with good food, good fun, and good family!!

I could have used a bed time story, Brer_Papa, I was awake from 4 to about 6.

But your stories are so interesting, I am sure that I would not have been able to fall asleep while you were telling it. ;)

I just got done baking a banana cake for my son. I promised him I would do it after I got back from his sister's dance class. So I just now took it out of the oven and it smells wonderful.

Anybody want a piece! :wave2:

YES, YES, YES....ME, ME, ME!!!! I just LOVE banana cake/banana bread! And, I just KNOW you made it calorie-free! ;) :p

 EVERYONE!!!

My Tuesday actually started on Monday, when my DBro called and said he "needed" me. (awww) He has 50/50 custody of his DSon, and his usual 'sitter' (my Mom) is on a vacation. So, Kim stepped up to the plate. However, I am NOT a fan of a 5AM drop off, like my Mom, so I told him to bring him over now (4PM Monday) to spend the night. Worked out fine. I had to get up at 7AM for the window installers anyway, but 5AM?? OUCH! The final window was finally installed, and my DS is very happy now (it was HIS bedroom window) ;) Those guys arrived at like 7:04 tho! Yikes! Give a girl a break, would ya? ;) Thankfully, DD and DNephew slept thru the ENTIRE installation! After that, DSIL & DNiece arrived to just have fun for a while, and DSIL had an afternoon Dr. appt (she's pregnant), so DN stayed with her cousins (and me).

Another busy day tomorrow. Kiddieland again, only this time with DSIL and DNiece. DN is 2-1/2......we'll see. It really is a GREAT place geared JUST for kids. High of 72º, so it's below average, and should be quite tolerable. ;) Next few days after that will jump by 10º, give or take, which IS normal. I just so much prefer temps in the 70s!

Sorry to ramble, hope you don't mind. I just feel like I'm talking amongst friends! :sunny:

ramble on, all you like Kim

That's what we are here for........to listen to your ramblings:p

Sounds like you are having a busy summer filled with little "kidlets" or "chittlin's" as a friend of mine likes to say.

Sorry, plenty of calories and fat in the banana bread but hey......you only live once :p so you might as well enjoy it while you can!!!

FREAKY!!!! Are you reading my PM's? I JUST said that to Dan! :earseek: No Lie!!!

OK, pass a small "chittlin-size" piece to me, ok? ;) :p

Ohh, didn't I tell you about my secret powers :teeth:

No, I don't have the power to read your PM's nor am I a mind reader :smooth: Though those powers could come in really handy sometimes ::yes::

I am going to go to work for awhile today and clear up things on my desk. I have it great. We have our own business but my part is the office work. So as long as the invoicing gets done and the bills get paid and the guys get their paycheques, I have no set hours!! If my mother finds out that I have been to work, she will say "Oh, was it pay day today!!" I always tell her I have to go to work and make up my paycheque ;)

I hope everyone has a great day :sunny:

Hi everyone!

Cruisin, can I have a piece of Banana Cake? Between you & Brer-papa, we have all the cyber food covered!

Ugh, it's been a day for me. This morning, my husband went in the hospital for a biopsy. He has a growth/tumor that is in a real tricky place - it's surrounded by his spinal cord, his aorta and his kidney, so they scheduled a CT Biopsy.

Well, he's in the hospital pj's, wheeled in the bed, has the IV in his hand and ready to go when the doctor realizes that no one told him to stay off his aspirin regimen. Since this is so close to his aorta (it's actually touching it), he runs the risk of bleeding to death if they nick it. So to be on the safe side......they reschedule it for Tuesday. We/he did a day and a half of the pre-op check in and blood tests and have emotionally invested a month of test after test for this day!

However, we're delighted that they are being cautious, but disappointed that we have to work up to another day.

Sorry to be such a bummer on the thread, but ya'll are SO nice I just had to spill......

Other than that, we're exhausted (limp from worry I guess) and we're going to take a nap. On the way home we went to a restaurant and I really wanted to emotionally eat, but that cutie-patootie I married stopped me. What a guy - I'm keeping him!

So, ya'll have a great day and I'm off to take a nap!

:wave2: That's why we are here, so people can "spill" whatever they need to ::yes::

That's too bad that noone warned him about the aspirin. To get yourself all ready, physically and emotionally prepared for something like that and to have it cancelled at literally the last second has got to be really hard to take.

But like you say it is good that they are being safe about it.

Sounds like you and your husband have some tough days ahead.

Keep us up to date on how he's doing.

Have a good nap

:wave2: Robin! (I didn't want you to feel lonely) ;)

How's everyone tonight?

Thanks Kim!

It seems like everyone has run away and left me all alone at the thread-killers thread:eek:

I wonder where everyone is and what they are doing ::yes::

Hi Kim!

Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

Well...I am on vacation...actually...i was supposed to be on vacation last week...but with everything that went on with DW's Dad...I moved my work from that week to last week...

and took vacation this week... make sense? it makes sense to me :)

anyway....we just got home within the last 10 minutes....we went down to the Mercer County Grange Fair...

G-R-E-A-T food....worth the hour + drive....

tomorrow we will go to the North East Cherry Festival...

did you know I'm a Fair/Festival junkie?

so....I'll throw the question back at you guys....how are you?

BTW....Best Wishes HollyAnn with your DH ...I hope everything goes well.... :cloud9:

(Brer_Papa hums "Hello HollyAnn" as he imagines Ricky Nelson would hum it...)...

Hey Brer_Papa, there you are ;)

I am glad that you are getting out and having some fun. Eating again, are you !!!!

There is a cherry festival near here next weekend, my daughter is dancing there (of course :smooth: ) The group is also dancing at RM Restorations auto anniversary party next weekend. So a busy weekend coming up next weekend (July 17/18).

I hope that you enjoy the rest of your vacation!!

::yes::

Robin, I would never let you stay lonely for too long. ;)

Hollyann, I sure hope everything turns out ok. Waiting is so incredibly hard. :(

You made sense to me, BP, after I read it twice. Glad you're enjoying yourselves. I hope Karen is feeling good, too. I see she participated in the t-shirt exchange...we didn't get one another tho. :(

I have been busy 3 days straight. It's keeping my mind off the oral surgery I'm having Saturday AM to have a wisdom tooth removed. :earseek: Say, what are the chances I can get that done at 11AM, and take DD to a BD party at 2PM? dh has to work. :( DS will be home, but the most he can do is drive us over, as he's still under permit to drive.

Today I went shopping.....MOSTLY FOR ME!!! 49 lbs lost makes a slight difference in the size of clothes I wear now, and we're taking a 10 day trip end of this month, so I really needed something to wear!! ::yes:: I think I did really good at Kohl's, all for under $200, and I got $30 in 'reward money' to be used starting next week. Hellllooooo Kohl's!!! :p ;)

Tomorrow is laundry day! :( 2 loads I needed to do before I went out today, plus all the new clothes I just bought.

Oh, I also bought a pedometer. :teeth:

:sunny:

Aaaaw....best wishes to your DD!
and have a great time on the upcoming weekend!!!!! I am exclamation point flush tonight!!

I hope that you enjoy the rest of your vacation!!
::yes::

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Good luck on your wisdom tooth removal Kim. I don't think you are going to want to be driving too soon after that.

Yes, I think 49 lbs less would make a little bit of difference in the way your clothes fit. Good for you!! I need to get some motivation to lose a few pounds too. Have you tried the pedometer? Does it work well?

So where are you going for your 10 days of vacation? Are you going with the whole family?

I would BLUSH!! if i said that.... me ... :)

Well now....Best wishes and good thoughts to you....

and a prayer to my Guardian Angel to whipser in your Guardian Angels ear to
keep an eye on you...

here's an oddity for ya....sometimes I'll say something or do something that raises an eyerow or twelve in the family......

to explain it....everybody in the family points to August of 1967 when I had my wisdom teeth removed...odd...

CONGRATULATIONS!! Have fun on your trip!!

Oh, I also bought a pedometer. :teeth:

:sunny:

A pedometer? What's that? A toe odometer thing-a-ma-bob?

Hmmmm...guess what? I was talking to my brother today....

he says he saw a guy that had no bones in his toes...to keep them from flapping every which-a-way...the guy had this yoke like contraption on them! {SHUDDER!!!}

Thanks Robin. Even though I agreed to have local anesthesia rather than general, he still said someone needed to come and drive me home. dh can do that, given the time. But the party is several hours later, and DS, Bless his kind nature, changed all his Saturday plans to tomorrow, to stay home/drive me/us where we need to go.

I've only worn the pedometer since this afternoon, after I bought it. Can't tell if it's working right. It IS counting tho. ;)

3 nights in Minnesota, Mall of America, some (very little) inlaw visiting, nothing fancy. Followed with 5 nights in the Wisconsin Dells. (1 of the nights we're traveling enroute to MN and are staying in Madison, WI)

BP, I already told the oral surgeon that there's NO wisdom left in any of my teeth!! :p

"yoke like contraption"?????? WHERE do you get this stuff???

And BP, as if you didn't know already, a pedometer counts your steps per day. ;)

they are....{slipping into my best Jack Webb...aka...Seargent Friday voice}....just the facts Maam...just the facts..

:) :) :sunny: OK! I admit it...i know what a pedometer is...

I wore one once....I was Irish Clog dancing...I wanted to see if I could get it back to all zeroes...

but it was distracting....it was silver..and mirror-like....

I was wearing my kilt...if you know what i mean...
