Who else loves the " Mitford" books by Jan Karon?

This is hands down my favorite book series ever. I love the characters and her style of writing. Even though I have read the entire series many times I still find myself laughing and crying in the same places each time I read them. Father Tim, Cynthia, Dooley and all the others are so real!

Anyone else feel the same about these wonderful books? Does anyone know when and if there will be another installment?

I haven't read these, but I think I will look into it. Are they connected in any way to the Mitford Snowman series of ornaments Hallmark came out with a few years ago?

I love them! It seems however, that all of my favorite writer's are writing shorter books with wider margins and bigger print! I want (need) more information!

I *think* the next one is due for next spring. It will be the last, I have heard.

Boy! Didn't mean to come off as so negative! I have to say I am still hoarding her last book! I bought it immediately, but I know that I can pick it up whenever I choose! I hate waiting years in-between!

These are books I read at bedtime, so that I don't have bad dreams!

My mom and I read these & love them! Eagerly awaiting the next one. Is it really the last in the series? oh no! They are definitely spaced too far apart - I always want more - and now!

I love them too. I would read them first, then pass them on to my mom. And that brings back a bittersweet memory. My mom passed away in Feb. 2001. In March 2001, I got an email from Amazon telling me a new Mitford book was coming out. My first thought was "I've got to tell Mom....." and then I cried.

If you like the Karon books, I also recommend the Miss Julia books by Ann Ross. They are written in the same style. Good clean, funny (very), reading. The main character is a real hoot. I guarantee you will like these books too. I think the first installment is Miss Julia Speaks her Mind.

this series is on my to read list... I'm reading Janet Evanovich's Full series right now, and will be buying the Mitford series next.. Glad to hear they're good.

Uh... Do they get better? I read the first one, and it was good, but... I don't know, I *could* read the second one, but I could also live with not reading it.

Unfortunately they're not 50s, so I have to buy them from my store instead of getting them for free.

I've absolutely loved the series! I really enjoy Jan Karon's writing style. I also grew up Episcopalian, so I could relate to sooo much going on in Father Tim's life. Reminded me of my old dysfunctional parish!
