Who else is excited for the Simpsons expansion

No. The land being used for the new Value Resort is land that is literally next to the back of Islands of Adventure. It was used over the years as employee parking and staging areas. It's also on the Universal side of I-4.

I also can't quite picture or remember correctly, But that land could've even been part of (or close to and purchased around the same time) of the original footprint for Universal Studios Florida before they did the massive project that changed the area from a single park w/ studio and large flat parking lot (with trams) into the full on resort that added a 2nd park, Citywalk, the 2 parking garages, and 3 deluxe hotels.

There are a couple plots just to the west of the Royal Pacific along Hollywood Way - I assume one of them is where the value resort is going, although I'm not sure what the clamor for a taxpayer-funded pedestrian bridge is for there.

The land I'm thinking of was on the other side of I-4, and possibly even the other side of I-Drive. I'm a bit fuzzy though on the exact location or landmarks around it though right now, but I remember someone over in the DIS's Universal board mentioning the plots a couple months ago in a discussion about future expansion possibilities for the resort.

There isn't much over there that isn't developed. About all I can see is a couple areas just north of Fun Spot along West Oak Ridge, essentially opposite the parking garages but separated by the I4/435 interchange. They aren't much bigger than the ones on Hollywood Way. One of them appears to have an abandoned parking lot, for reasons unknown as there is no building nearby...

Okay thanks

I am! I can't ride alot of the rides at Universal/IOA anymore but I still love to go for the atmosphere.

I am looking forward to checking out Transformers, Diagon Alley and the expanded Simpsons section once they are all done.

I probably shouldn't admit this but I like the carnival games. They remind me of going to the boardwalk at Seaside Heights in NJ when I was a kid.

First of all my "family dynamic"
When we go to Orlando, it is myself, hub, Boy Wonder 1 (25), Boy Wonder 2 (20) and our best friends. They have Princess (24) and the baby of the group (18).

The "kids" do Disney for the nostalgia and for the Moms. They LOVE Universal and were very caught up in what was going on near the Simpsons ride. I happened to notice that the buzz here was people their age.....they grew up with the Simpsons and are the next group to be bringing their kids and making travel decisions. This week when I forwarded the info on what was actually going to be going here, they were very excited to start planning the next trip and that this had to be the first stop.
