Yes, while most of the nation is swimming, having cook outs and getting drunk, I will be stranded in the dress/swimwear department of one of the department stores at our local mall for 9 hours. And because I've only been there a week and a half, I'm not yet eligible for the holiday pay either

I work EVERY holiday by choice. Well, except Christmas, which is forced on me due to lack of seniority.

I get 2.5x regular pay OR 1.5x pay and a payback day..... I always choose the latter.

I do...I can get off now if I want with my seniority but it pays double time and a half so I am working this one. I always choose to take off Christmas day though...

I do cleaning too so I know how you feel. I also clean at a church that has been having a luncheon for charities and an arts festival for the last three days. It's over after today. Cleaning around everyone there has been a nightmare.

Count me in ...I'm at work right now, my next vacation day isn't til Aug 4. I do tech support, we've already had one network outage this morning at 7am , Hopefully it will be better the rest of the day.

If you go shopping today, *thank the retail workers for being at work today!* Having to work on Memorial Day doesn't really bother me, but 4th of July does!!

I do get an extra paid day off this week, and I'm taking it on Saturday!

I'm here at work too. I work really early in the am, so I should be leaving soon. Instead of OT, I opt for a comp. day for working holidays.
