I'm stumped. Haha. We'll be going to Disneyworld for the first time in January. And I'm starting to plan which parks which days. So my first question is how do you decide? And what's your usual order to do the parks?

I have been to Disneyland like 13 years ago, so I've been.on a lot of the classic rides. I want to do Magic Kingdom first..but in a way, I don't want to do it first and then it be all over!! Here's the order as of now:

Arrival day: DTD, explore resorts, stuff like that.
Day 1: Animal Kingdom
Day 2: Magic Kingdom
Day 3: Universal
Day 4: (typhoon lagoon for a couple hours if its warm enough) then Hollywood Studios
Day 5: Epcot
Departure day: typhoon lagoon if we didn't get to go the other day its planned

We do DTD on arrival day and AK as our first park day. It's slower and we are still semi tired. Plus Tusker House! Usually once we go to the other parks the kids don't look at AK again the rest of the trip lol

We're not this upcoming trip. Starting out w/ Epcot and HS at night. We'll hit MK the second day. It just depends on crowds, where we want to eat, parades, fireworks, etc....

We always go to Epcot the first day. With our 2 boys, its easier to just hit a couple attractions( Nemo, Crush, etc) have an early dinner and then back to the resort that night. Our first full day there is when we hit the parks with MANY attractions for the kids.

:thumbsup2

We don't have a set park order because I will not go to a park on a "bad" day just because it's tradition. I try to put each park on the best day of our trip for that particular park, with an easy/rest day in the middle.

Magic kingdom is always our last park to visit. The reason is that we do split stays and tend to stay where we play and we stay at BLT to do MK and as it is my favorite resort I like to leave form there.

This is our first trip and we will not be in the Magic Kingdom until our 3rd day. doing 2 days in epcot and animal kingdom first.

We were Disneyland Annual Passholders and didn't do MK first on any of our trips. We wanted to see what was truly different about WDW before we went to MK. On our last two trips, we didn't even go to MK though it is on our agenda for our upcoming trip which includes MVMCP.

We do MK on arrival but that's cause we get park hoppers so we just go to soak up the magic. Than we go to MK on afternoons and other parks in morning haha. And MK on the last day. I'm MK obsessed haha

We always follow this plan:

MK
EPCOT: FW
EPCOT: WS
DHS
AK
MK

I've never used a predictor, and we've always managed to see everything we wanted, even during the busy times. But to each their own. We usually do RD and sometimes this pattern will match up with AM EMH, which really helps out. We're also hoppers, so if we do miss something, we can usually catch it later in the trip.

We don't typically do MK first (especially if this is a first time WDW trip for someone in your party) because it has the most rides. If you start with MK (IMO) it seems like the rest of the parks "aren't as exciting" because of the lack of rides. We have experienced this ride let down a couple of times, so we switched it up and now try to get at least 2 of the parks down before we hit MK.

Having gone several times, if it is not a first trip then we look at arrival time and EMH evening schedule to determine where we will start.

We decide where to visit based purely on crowd predictions.

Ditto:thumbsup2. Sometimes we go take a walk down main street hit a ride or two than hop to less crowded park, just to get our fix!

We go on the recommended days.

Our stay is usually for at least 6 days plus couple at USF.

We tend to have 2 MK days - one RD and one late arrival/fireworks.
Two EP days - one RD and one late arrival/Illuminations.
One RD for HS and one RD for HS.

Some years we have done a waterpark if we have 7 days. Or else we do the waterpark earlier in the day and go to EP later around 3.

We went to Epcot on our first day last year. We ended up at Magic Kingdom that night after dinner when we realized they had EMH that night, but it wasn't planned. (On long trips I really only plan my mornings, and then leave the rest of the day open to whatever seems like a good idea. We have hoppers, so where dinner is scheduled isn't an issue.)

We did MK first on our last visit but this time we are doing AK first since it is DD8's bday so we let her pick the park and the ADR. We will hit MK the evening of day two for MVMCP and maybe during the day as well. The stunt show at HS is close for most of our stay so we will likely go to HS day 2 so I can see that. Our first full day at MK is not until Day 4 or 6 depending on weather and a day at BB.

We use the crowd calendar on easywdw to plan out which parks on which day. With that said, we always go to Epcot on arrival day because we stay at the Epcot resorts, and have lunch or dinner at the World Showcase...and a few beverages. :drinking1

We always (well, 99% of the time) go to MK on arrival day. As for our first full park day it all depends on which park is the most recommended per EasyWDW. :)
