We will be in WDW end of Sept. DH, DD, and DS's birthday's are all around that time as is our anniversary. I let everyone pick a meal based on their occassion:

DH - Tusker House Breakfast for his B-day
DD - Askerhaus Breakfast for her B-day
DS - Sci-Fi Late Lunch/Dinner for his B-day
DH/ME - Kona Cafe Dinner for our anniversary

So who do I tell? Call back Disney Dining or call the restaurant directly. If the answer is the restaurant, could someone provide phone #'s please and Thank You!!

Call back Disney Dining & ask them to make note of it on each of your ADR's.

I would also have your family member wear a birthday pin at their dinner. You can also get anniversary pins. You can pick these up (for free) either at your hotel check in (if you are staying on site), or at the guest relations places in each park.

You can also order a cake at most restaurants. I would call ahead of time for that & actually I'm not sure who to call to order the cake.

Also, at CRT & the GF restaurants, you can order a chocolate Cinderella's slipper dessert. Again, I *think* this needs to be ordered ahead of time.

Sometimes, restaurants will give a complimentary birthday dessert, but I wouldn't expect or rely on that.

Have a great time-what a fun trip!!

You just need to tell Disney dining. We usually tell them at the same time as booking our ADRs. We did so today actually.

I booked 2 restaurants for Dec for birthdays and they noted it on my booking.

However if you wish to order a special cake then you will need to call the cake number I believe.:goodvibes

I am taking my mom to WDW to celebrate her 75th birthday in Sept. Her birthday is Sept 9th and we are dining at Crystal Palace that morning and 1900 Park Fare that night. When I made dining reservations the CM asked if we were celebrating anything and I told her about my mom's birthday on the 9th. She asked me if I wanted her to add a note about her birthday on everyone of our ADRs (we are on the DxDDP and have alot of ADRs:rolleyes1 ). I told her no, just the 1900 Park Fare one. When I went to WDW in May, I ran by City Hall and got a birthday button to surprise her with on the plane. Knowing her, she'll probably wear the button all week. I'll order a special cake for 1900 Park Fare and that's really the only place we'll be celebrating. However, with her wearing the button, do you think the other restaurants will mention her birthday. We don't want anything, but it would be nice if the waiter at least said 'Happy Birthday' to her, since we will be celebrating her milestone on our own all week. No big deal, if they don't, but I know my mom would love it. (She's getting a little childish in her old age.:rotfl: )

The question is really "Who don't you tell?" I would tell everyone - the CM that takes your reservation, the person at the podium when you check in, your server, the people at the table next to you even! Seriously though - tell as many people as you can, wear the pins people described in previous posts, and just enjoy it. The key to the whole experience is you cannot expect something special, but at least provide the CMs with the knowledge so that they may do something to recognize it.

We generally just tell the restaurant when we check in. It has been hit and miss when we tell the CM while booking our ADR.

Everyone who will listen!!!! :lmao:

When I made reservations for trip, when I made ADR's, when I upgraded dining plan, when I changed ADR's, when I tip the ME person, when I check-in, just about ALLLLLLLLL the time!!!! :rotfl2:

I will get DD6.5 a birthday button...the CM's made such a fuss over her on our last trip for her birthday. DH and I are also going to celebrate our Anniversary at WDW. I also scheduled a diver at Coral Reef Restaurant to Welcome our DD Back to WDW w/Personalized Menus!!!!!
