I had a little trouble setting up my white baby too Thankfully it was waiting for me when I got back from Florida as you saw what I did to my 3GS all I had to do was hook it up to iTunes....and I think because mine wasn't on opening day it was a little quicker From one apple geek to another this is definitely the best one yet!!! I am in with Siri!!! She is so helpful

Your poor 3gs! May it rest in peace!! Siri took me to my meeting yesterday! I wasn't sure I could remember how to get where I was going so I told her to take me to the address and she did!

Love it! I would have been freaking out if that happened to me! I am often amazed, because you would think that these big bad corporations would be more prepared for launches like that. Come on, the past how many launches with Apple haven't proven their popularity?

I totally understand your love of Apple! I'm certainly partial to my Mac laptop, Ipad and my Iphone. I think I'll be keeping my 4 for a while though...
It was fun skyping my class with the Ipad from the MK even though every couple of minutes I got cut off and had to call them back!

You have the apple trifecta like me!

I have to download Skype and get it all set so DH and I can Skype with the kids next month! I tried to use FaceTime in May not realizing you need to be on wifi to use it. You can't use 3g! the kiddos would LOVE to Skype, especially if I can show them the fireworks or something!

I'm very jealous...love your phone! I'm going to have to upgrade in the near future to one of those fancy phones!!!!!!

You should!!! It's fabulous!! Siri is sooooo cool!!! She does just about everything I ask her too. She took me to my meeting yesterday, she reminds me when I need to make a call or something, she sets the alarm for me. She hasn't figured out how to clean my house or anything, but I'm working on it!

My next purchase will be a new mac since my first one was a used one - sort of a trial computer. Love it and can't wait to get a new one!

I bought a new power cord at best buy yesterday and everything seems to be fine!

I like BLT. I love to proximity to MK, you can't beat that! It's fabulous to be able to walk back and forth, especially after MNSSHP! No waiting for a bus!! Woo too!! That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the theming. I actually feel like it's lacking a theme. The pictures on the wall don't make it disney. But, that's just my opinion!

I left off with an early bedtime the night before we left on our magical Disney adventure!

I set the alarm on my fancy dancy new phone for something like 3:30 am! Yup, bright and early!

But, true to form, I woke up at 2:45ish! I lay in bed for a little bit, dozed a little, played with the fancy dancy new phone and then decided to just get my butt out of bed. No sense in staying there, I surely wasn’t going to go back to sleep!

So, I got up, had some coffee, showered, had some coffee, got ready, had some more coffee, went on about a few things around the house, decided that if I drank anymore coffee there would be an unpleasant side effect, and then woke the family!

No one in my family, except me, is a morning person on a usual day. On Disney day they suddenly and miraculously become morning people!! Let’s get up, get dressed, in the car, let’s go kinda people!!!!



So soon we were off to the airport!

We got to the airport quick and easy! Curb side check in was a breeze as was going through security! I was super glad that we go there when we did because by the time we got through security the line was out of the queue ridiculously long!!!

We settled in for a short wait at the gate and got a little breakfast!

Soon it was time to board!! I absolutely despise Southwest boarding! It’s so stressful to me! But, we were in the A boarding group, so we were soon on the plane, seated and comfy!













The flight was uneventful and the kids, although they didn’t sleep, kept themselves occupied and happy!

We landed and soon found our way to claim our luggage! We also found our fabulous limo driver! Honestly, I can’t remember his name but he was super nice and helpful!

And we were soon whisked away in a stretch navigator! Sorry no pics for the car or of the car for that matter, I was too busy being overwhelmed with actually being at WDW!

We arrived at the Contemporary quickly and made our way to check-in.

Now, I didn’t do online check-in. Mostly because last year when DH and I stayed at BLT I did and I had a horrible time checking in! Something got messed up somewhere along the way and it took like 40 minutes to check in!

So, I was hoping that not doing online check-in would make the check-in process a lot smoother and easier!

Yup, dreams and wishes!!!


That were soon dashed! Ho hum!!!


The girl who attempted to check us in was Kristine, she was super nice and helpful. But, the issues were not only beyond her control, they also were beyond her knowledge.

I had with me my confirmation letter with all 7 people, listed correctly. But, something, somewhere along the way had gotten messed up. They had 9 people listed. The extra three where actually DH, DS8 and FIL listed again and slightly differently!

Grrrrrr! I told DH it would be too confusing to have all 3 of them named John. But noooooooooo! He had to have a son named after him! Yeah, I just carried the kid for 9 months, the last of which was hell on earth, and pushed him out without pain meds because the kid wouldn’t wait for them to give me any! Yeah, I shouldn’t have a say in naming him. I guess I’ll be dealing with this until the end of time!!

But, I digress!

It should be simple enough and she can just delete the extra 3 names, right?!

Yeah, dreams and wishes that were again, soon dashed! Ho hum!

The system wouldn’t let her delete. She tried, and they would just reappear.

She finally, after struggling for 20 minutes called a manager over!

He looked at it and tried to delete the names and did a little diddy on the computer they have on the rolling table in the back.

Yeah, he was having trouble too!

And it turned out that not only was there 3 extra clones in our room but some one, somewhere had MIL and FIL in an extra studio! Say what buttercup?!

My immediate first thought was my precious DVC points! I had just recently been in my DVC account online and everything had looked fine with the points. But I was slightly freaked that I would be charged the points for 8 nights in a Lake View Studio at BLT! But, he assured me that everything would be fine!! My thought, you had better be telling me the truth there bucko!

He tried and tried and tried some more to fix it!

I tried and tried and tried some more to remain patient and not annoyed, although I had now been trying to check-in for 40 minutes.

He made a phone call, to whom I don’t know. Perhaps Mickey, maybe Robert Iger himself! I really don’t know.

But, after the phone call. He came over and told me, and Kristine, that he was going to have to cancel our room reservation and the phantom reservation and re-book it the way ! Fabulous! Just make sure that everything stays the way it’s supposed to and my points don’t get messed up, capiche?!

So, a fiddle and a foddle and soon it seemed that the reservation was fixed, well actually re-booked!

Now, we could re-start the process of actually checking in!

In the meantime the family had been sacked out over by the lobby tv being very patient. Which is something my family doesn’t do all that well!

Kristine, checked us in and felt so bad she offered to call housekeeping to see if any rooms were clean for us even though it was only around 11:30. She asked if I had any special requests for the room.

My immediate thought was “yeah, after all this, a week in the castle suite!!” Then I thought, “yeah, one of those fabulous magic kingdom view suites in the contemporary!”

But, I was a good girl and said, “yes, an even numbered room on the north end of the building!” I think she thought I was little looney for that request. But, being somewhat of an expert, I knew that the rooms on the outside of the building, the ones that face the monorail and MK are even numbered, also knew that the rooms on the north end of the building are closest to Space Mountain. Therefore, a room on with an even # on the north end of the building is likeliest to be one of those fabulous rooms in BLT that is considered lake view, but actually lake and MK view!!

Well, there were no rooms clean, let alone one that meet my requests. So she hung up and said at least if there are no clean rooms she’ll make sure we get a “good” room. So, she made another call. I assume to the person who assigns rooms. She explained that there had been a lot of trouble trying to get us checked in and she wanted to make sure that we got a good room. They talked for a minute and hung up! She told me that we would really like the room we assigned to! She couldn’t give me the number because it wasn’t cleaned yet and hadn’t been marked as such in the system. But she hoped it would make up for some of the inconvenience!

So, an hour and 15 minutes after starting the check in process we were finally checked in and ready to go!!

Off to MK we go!!

OMG, an hour and 15min would have made my head explode!! I can guarantee you my family would not have been so patient. REALLY hoping you got some darn good room after all that hassle.

I'm with you on the SWA seating. Traveling with kids makes me stressed waiting to get on the plane. The worst was our last trip, for some reason I was singled out and couldn't do online check-in so we weren't in the same boarding group.

That's crazy! I don't know how you stayed patient through that. The same things were going through my mind as you were describing it. OMG, her points......you can tell we're DVC members, right?
