White lights? Colored lights? Red lights?

Okay it seems like the real or fake tree thread came out with the majority being....fake. So far anyways.

Now on those fake trees do you hang white or colored lights?

I'm a simple girl...plain white for me.

we get a real tree and hang clear (white) lights on it, but we are moving and the kids will have a playroom so I am thinking that I will get a small artificial tree for in there and use colored lights on it.

My fake tree is white with rainbow fiber optics. It's really beautiful. You can change the color wheel inside if you want just a specific color, but the rainbow assortment is my favorite.

I have to have a fake tree otherwise my cat will try to climb it. She thinks that impresses us.

For the outside lights, I've always been partial to blue. Blue against white snow looks pretty classy. Of course in Florida it doesn't work out that way, but I still use 'em.

Have done some years white and some colored. Since having kids mostly the colored lights. We just moved to a new house in the last year and will probably work our way into having two trees....one if the family room with colored lights and one in the living room with white lights. Oh, and sometimes white lights on the porch and stairs outside.

Ours is pre-lit with white lights. DD (who is totally in charge of tree decoration) picked it out at an after Christmas sale. She goes for the elegant look (white lights, gold decorations). We knew it was serious last year when her BF helped her decorate, and she let him talk her into adding some maroon decorations too!

I, on the other hand, like lots of color. I think DD refers to my Christmas trees as being "too frantic". Guess I'm just a frantic kind of girl.

Our family room tree is colored lights, and that tree will have all the fun ornaments on it like my Hallmark ornaments, Disney ornaments, Sports ornaments (for DH) and things like that.

Our living room tree will be pre-lit with white lights (first christmas in this house, I haven't bought the tree yet) and will be decorated all in reds and golds, definitely a much fancier tree. So, I guess we will have both, but with only one tree I would choose colored over white.

I don't have a tree, but I have white lights around my living room windows year-round (on the inside, so neighbors don't think I'm crazy). I think white is pretty.

I prefer white, DH prefers colored.

It is mostly colored, with some white LED lights. Actually, Christmas lights are an obsession with my husband. Every year he buys new novelty lights for the tree. (bubble lights, LED)

I actually pack my lights carefully, and they still all work the next year, so I usually end up putting probably 1,000 lights on the tree.

DH has already been salivating at the light display at Target...

DH insists on multi-colored. I always try to go for all white, but he won't go for it. Personally, I didn't think he'd care. But when I mentioned not putting up the tree this year (lots of stuff going on - not in the mood), he whined and said "It's not Christmas without a Christmas tree" Geez.

Our friend puts up a white tree with red lights. We call it the nuclear-active tree. Eeek!
