White Balance for Character Meals

hello, everyone. i'm still learning, and i was wondering about white balance settings when shooting in disney restaurants such as chef mickey's, ohana, cape may, etc. just use auto, or tungsten, or flourescent? not that i mind the purple photos so much. i like the think the t-rex i shot at the musem the other day is a pre-historic Barney

I think it depends on which character meal, and also what time of the day - for example, Crystal Palace will have a lot more natural sunlight during the day but would have mostly artificial light during the evening. If your camera supports it, I'd recommend shooting in Raw for at least those shots (ideally everything should be in raw, if you have enough memory card storage), that way you can worry about white balance later.

To set your white balance on auto to me depends on your camera and if you shoot in RAW. My D200 was not known for its auto white balance. My D300 does an overall great job. I know in shooting RAW I can adjust white balance in post processing.

I also have a new tool. I have purchased a small neutral gray card. Not an exposure gray card. You take a shot holding the card in the scene using the available light that you are shooting in. Then in PP you use a gray point to reset the white balance. It works perfectly as long as you are using the same light source. The card fits in your pocket or comes with a lanyard.
