Hi! I know this has probably been asked dozens of times, but how does one get from the campgrounds to fort wilderness lodge? We have breakfast reservations so need to make sure we give enough time. Can we take our golf cart? I recall the trail to walk there is closed, correct? Thanks! We arrive Saturday and I can hardly wait! :yay::yay:

Park the golf cart in the parking lot by trails end. There is a bus stop to the left of trails end. Near the road and across from the horse barn. There is a bus that runs to wilderness lodge.

It will probably take longer but you could take the boat to magic kingdom and transfer to the lodge boat. The resort boat was still not running as far as I know.

  • The Yellow Line bus service has been extended from the Settlement Depot to allow transportation to Wilderness Lodge.
  • The buses usually say “Wilderness Lodge” but it doesn’t hurt to ask the Yellow Line bus driver just in case the sign didn’t change
  • Buses run to the Lodge at least until the restaurants at the Lodge are closed

To answer a specific question you asked, no, you can not take the golf cart to Wilderness Lodge. To add on to what @Bishoparc said, the yellow bus is pretty quick. It only took us about 10 minutes to get to WL. Could have been luck, or timing or both but the time was reasonable.

For the record, you can also just drive, which is what we did. It is an easy drive of less than 5 minutes, and parking at WL is relatively convenient.

Driving works till you have 10 people, we took the bus in July and it was a no brainer trip.

We went down this weekend for a quick trip. Stayed at our timeshare off property but went to Whispering Canyon for dinner Saturday evening. I am thrilled to report, imo, that Whispering Canyon was back to almost it's full glory of antics. They still weren't doing the "We need ketchup" bit but the servers were engaging and entertaining. Lots of laughter filled the air and it felt like home again. Food was delicious as always.
