Can someone please give me some insider's knowledge of what goes on at this restaurant? Ketchup and straws???:confused3

The servers do "antics" like at 50's Primetime.

The straws, if you ask for one they throw a ton on your table.

If you ask for ketchup they stand at your table and scream thru the restaurant "WE NEED KETCHUP". And all the tables with ketchup on them, the kids at that table run the bottle to your table.
This is fun for the kids to do.
So you end up with 10 bottles on your table.

There are other things that can happen, like if you drink to fast or ask for multiple refills, they will actually bring out a gallon jar of pop for you to drink.
My DH loves this one, because he actually can drink it.
On the other hand if you ask for just a small bit more, they bring you a "thumble" full of pop.

All in all it is a cute place. We love the food as well. So if you are looking for a good time, you will enjoy it.

PERFECT place to trick DS18 because he LOVES Coke for Breakfast and Ketchup !

He asked for MORE COKE.....(NOTE the "Normal" sized glass nearby)

I had to scan this pic from our pre-digital days in 2004, so it's not that sharp...DMIL asked for Diet Pepsi (GASP!) and she was "punished" by being made to wear this napkin hat (I think DFIL was just guilty by association!)...

I get the 50s Prime Time because they are all acting like TV sitcom charactors but how does this fit in with a place called whispering canyon cafe? What is the theme?

If it's your Birthday they sing Happy Birthday, although it is being generous by calling it "Singing" LOL

They also do some cute things for kids such as the stampede where they bring out the horse heads on sticks and have the kids run around the restaurant on these.

It was a good time when we had gone but what will make or break the experience is the staff and other tables. If you get servers who are into the entertainer part of their role, you will have a good time. If they just go through the motions, then it will be a let down. With that said, our server was very very good at his part and made the meal a really fun experience.

my experience was really different than everying posted here.
My family enjoyed breakfast around 10am. There was practically no one there (good thing I made that ADR:lmao:)
So, I did not have a jolly old time of having straws flung at me or my waitress behaving "badly." It was really really low key. Although my girls did get to ride the stick ponies around. That's a recorded voice that starts up the stick pony race. Its a good thing they had that experience. They really enjoyed that. But it was not a rootin tootin time at breakfast. Maybe if there were more people there I guess it would have been a little more lively.
I did enjoy the breakfast, just basic stuff like eggs and bacon. Nothing really memorable like some a giant tub of coffee. That didn't happen.

I never get a lively server although they've all been attentive. The best thing I ate from there were ribs from my son's plate. Otherwise, everything else was unmemorable at best.

Truth is, I like going there because I'd have no other reason to visit the WL and I just LOVE that lobby. We take the boat from the MK and enjoy the trip. I'm not really fond of the WCC.

We're having breakfast here next sunday, and I'm looking forward to it. We have like 3 birthdays in our group, and it's early, so it should be interesting. I've eaten dinner there, and really liked it. My step daughter drinks alot too, so I won't even warn her on that one. Just let them bring it!!!!!
