Whispering Canyon or Liberty Tree?

I had Whispering Canyon booked for lunch because my nephew wanted to eat there. I canceled after I learned they stopped doing the antics, since that's the reason he wanted to eat there. I was able to get an ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern instead, but now I hear WC hasn't done away with all the antics, just the loud ones. So now I don't know which place to eat. I called my sister, and they don't care, just long as the food is good (and not Mexican, apparently my nephew doesn't like Mexican food).

Here's my plan for the day
Sunday, June 3
MK - park opens at 8, my plan is to be there around 7:30, but we'll see how that works out
FP+ BTMRR 9:45-10:45
FP+ HM 10:45-11:45
PF+ 7DMT 11:45-12:45
LTT 12:25

We'll pretty much get everything done before lunch, so we can either stay in the MK and eat at LTT or leave and go to WC. If we go to WC, I wouldn't make the ADR until later, probably around 2:00 to allow us enough time to finish at MK and get to the Wilderness Lodge without rushing.

I have almost the same situation. I canceled ADR at WC, and made a new one at LTT. And now I'm having the same debate, except I'm also tempted to try Diamond Horseshoe since they're introducing a new menu.
WC - Convenient location, as we're doing MK in the AM, and then lunch, and then going to AK.
LTT - Better food reviews
DH - New menu has choices I like better than the other 2.
Sorry to hijack your thread.

Since you're in MK already, i'd go for LTT. The food is delicious. I love the pot roast, burgers, and the ooey gooey toffee cake. :cloud9:

I read the same thread but decided to keep my WCC ADR to see for myself. While I love LTT I would go to WCC over LT. But as an above poster noted The Diamond Horseshoe is started to look really good.

I would go with LTT. For us, WCC is fine if we are staying at WL but we do not go out of our way to eat there, plus we prefer their breakfast over their lunch and dinner.

I thought someone reported a customer service response from WCC this week saying they are still doing it, just trying not be so noisy, i.e. yelling.

I’d stay with LTT. We just ate there for the first time and the food is delicious. Plus, it’s way more convenient to just stay in the MK to eat. We went to WCC once and weren’t crazy about it.

LTT all the way for me. Although I really like WCC breakfast but not a fan of there other meals. LTT dessert is the best on property IMO. Even better then Ohana.

No, not the best dessert on property. Some find it delightful. I'm not one of them. Others have agreed with me. Just a big fat chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and topping. No cake in the dessert at all.

Yeah for everyone that says they like something there will be people who don't. Just a difference in peoples taste. That's why people have to try something for themselves to be able to judge.

Thanks everybody! I think I will stay with LTT for now. We have eaten dinner at both and I prefer the food at LTT over WC. And I've always wanted to try the ooey gooey toffee cake because when we went something else was served for dessert at dinner. I've checked and it looked like WC usually has times available the day before, so if my nephew wants to eat there, I can cancel LTT and book WC once we're there and I talk to him.

I would keep LTT only because you are in MK. There is more than enough to keep yo busy there all day if you wish. Going back and forth to Wilderness takes a lot of time just for lunch. Unless you are looking for an out of park break.

I too would stay with Liberty. The pot roast that you get with the meal is to die for. When the waitress asked how my food was, I told her that if my wife could cook pot roast like that I would marry her. You should have seen her face. I even went without the dessert because I was still eating more pot roast.

Agreeing with others that I prefer LTT for food, theming and location. However, the idea of a side trip to WL in the afternoon has its appeal. The lobby is an attraction by itself and it may provide a nice chance to break up the day from the chaos and crowds of MK.
