I am trying to decide which way to go, Lunch at Whispering Canyon or Dinner? It will be on our Magic Kingdom day so we can just hop the boat over to Wilderness Lodge, but I can't decide if we should head for lunch or for dinner. What does everyone think? I would love to have your opinions on this.
Thanks :)

We love WCC, only had it for dinner though. But I would assume it is the same at lunch time.
I love the ribeye which isn't offered until dinner, so I always schedule our meal at that time.
I would say it depends on what fits into your schedule better.

I would say you have a better chance for interaction if you go at dinner time.

We went to dinner in September 2008. There was NO interaction at all...the restaurant was relatively quiet. I guess it comes down to "who is working" that particular shift. Unfortunately, we found the food and service horrible and it is now on the list with H&V of never returning to again.

the server really helps this place in terms of interaction. There are a few things you can do like ask for kethcup or ask for a bigger straw etc etc etc

I would do dinner. Definately more lively atmosphere then

We have been there twice and enjoyed it. The service was good and there was a lot of interaction which is very entertaining. As for the food, I would call it good but not great. If you have never been there it is worth going to just to experience it.

I've heard both good and bad about lunch and dinner. We stayed there last Oct and we never did eat there at either of those times but when we did get a whiff going to our room it smelled wonderful, and I can tell you the breakfast is terrific. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Thanks everyone!! sounds like Dinner is the way to go, here's hoping the kids like the place LOL

Went to late dinner in May. There was very little interaction. In fact, she seemed to forget about us with the food order even. (It was not crowded.) Food was ok, but nothing I have to go back for. I will try different restaurants, IMHO.

We had lunch there in August, it was disgusting...I will never eat there again....

I would try the Wave, I hear the lunch is excellent

We have been 3 times. 1 lunch & 2 dinners. I agree the interaction is better at dinner. The first time I had the skillet and didn't really care for it. We have all ordered off the menu since the first visit & we liked it much better. :goodvibes

HI. One recommendation I have is to ask for your milkshake without the whipped cream in it. They are unlimited refills, but you end up getting so full from one that you can barely eat and could never get a second milkshake. It's the whipped cream that makes it so rich and heavy.

Another tip I heard is to get the refill milkshake to go.

We got the skillet and thought it was all pretty greasy and it didn't sit well in our stomachs. My DD was up all night with a tummyache and I didn't feel well either. Kaopectate was my friend that night! :rolleyes1

We may try it again for breakfast but I don't think we would ever consider lunch or dinner there again.

What about the non-skillet food, is it any good? I was there years ago but truthfully I can't remember.

ITA. WCC is one of two places we are not in any hurry to return to (tried it twice just to make sure we didn't like it).

This was the exact experience my DH had with the skillet (and we know it was the meat because it was the only thing I didn't try because I found the rest of the food gross).
