I currently have an ADR for Whispering Canyon at 1:00pm for me, DH and DD5. I really debating on whether to keep this or not. It probably won't be a rip roarin' great time that late (at lunch) and our party is so small. We'll be at MK that morning and I kind of made the ressie to go check out the WL. What do you guys think? A waste of time?

We're already doing CP, CRT, Chef Mickey's, and 'Ohana's so I'm not looking to going to any of those places for lunch that day.

Keep it or not?

From everything I've read, your ADR time isn't really all that bad. I've hear that lunch is just as much fun as dinner, as long as you don't have one of the first or last seatings. Your time seems to be right in the middle of lunch, so I think it should be pretty rowdy.

I'm a little more concerned about my ADR. It's for 5:30pm and I heard that 6:30pm - 7:00pm is the best time. I'm keeping mine anyway. If it isn't rowdy enough early on, we'll just stretch out the meal at bit.

WE have stayed at WL on our last 2 trips. WCC is not as busy during lunch time. Dinner is more fun IMO. It is less crowded which if your leaving MK for lunch is nice. But there is alot more going on at dinner.

We went for lunch our last day and I wish we would have just cancelled. Nothing went on like I had read or expected. Very low key at that time, which was around 1:30pm. I am sure the real tricks start around dinner time.

We had lunch last year at WCC and the experience was a little less than we expected. We had an ADR at 1:30 so it was a late lunch. The food was very good but it was fairly quiet in the restaurant compared to what I had read about. There were a couple of tables that were having a good time; I think our waiter was new. We are trying a dinner ADR this year so hopefully we will get to experience more of the "atmosphere" this time. I chose a lunch ADR for our first visit because I wanted to be sure we would like the food and I wanted to check out the WL. I don't think your ADR would be a waste of time--the food is good and the resort is pretty quiet at that time so there is a lot of opportunity to check it out--unless your heart is really set on experiencing the "ambiance". You could always try stirring up trouble by asking for ketchup, straws or more to drink. Have fun :wave2:

What if we eat at Roaring Forks? I know that's CS, but we're over our TS credits anyway and will be paying OOP for some...skipping this would free up 3 credits for us. I guess I just want to experience the WL (checking it out for a future stay!!) and from what you all are telling me, may make for a relaxing afternoon after MK.

Last Oct we went very close to the time they stop serving lunch and while it wasn't packed like it was at dinner, they were still doing the fun stuff. In fact we participated in many more activities than we normally do at dinner. I would go for the fun but the food is still just OK for lunch or dinner.

As lunch does not start until noon, I think it will still be "rip-roaring" at 1pm. I really enjoy this restaurant and was very pleased with both the food and the service. They had one CM doing bird calls, kids doing horse racing, etc.
