How is Whispering Canyon for breakfast?

The food and the cast member interaction? I'm having a hard time get a dinner reservation there so thought I'd try breakfast if it's good.

Thanks!:goodvibes

It has been a while since we had breakfast there, but the last one was a blast. The food was great and the cast member interaction was great. Just don't ask for the katsup, you will get way more than one person needs. We loved it.

My experience was the opposite. We had the first seating in Nov 2010, there were no ketchup or straw antics whatsoever. The food was mediocre at best, the bacon was HORRIBLE. That said, I really enjoyed the mickey waffles, so ate mostly that. Our waitress was sweet, but there was none of the fun stuff that we had heard about and anticipated. Now, we've not been for lunch/dinner, but I hear its WAY better than breakfast.

So there's my two cents. My family will never go back for breakfast.

Hope this helps! :)

Whispering Canyon is one of my favorite Disney breakfasts!

I have never ordered the skillet. Instead, I always order the Western Omelet with potatoes and coffee, and it is so incredibly good. I love it!

If you go before 9 a.m., it tends to be a little quieter. They seem to start making more noise around 9 or later.

Sometimes I would go downstairs and have breakfast there by myself right when they opened. Then, it was nice and peaceful.

Other times, I would bring my family with me. On those occasions, I would share with the host or hostess that we were hoping to have some fun with our server. They have always taken really good care of us!

We ate there last year for breakfast. We had the breakfast skillet. It was okay. The kids certainly had their fill of food because the CM kept bringing more food.

The interaction was okay. Our CM didn't really participate in the antics. I guess it all depends on the CM.

We did have a reservation for breakfast this year, but we cancelled and decided to go to the GF for breakfast. One of the reasons why we cancelled our breakfast reservation is that we wanted to go to one of the parks after breakfast. Last year, we waited 1 hour for a bus to take us to EPCOT. We lost a lot of time just waiting. If you have the time, I would try it just to see what the antics are during breakfast. Also, if you have someone who can eat a lot of food, by all means, go to here.

We ate breakfast here once before our day at MK. We were not very impressed. We did enjoy seeing WL (at Xmas-time) and rode to MK on the boat which was nice too. IMO there is NO comparison between the breakfast here and at KONA.
KONA has great breakfast if you have never been.

We've had breakfast a couple times and left full and satisfied. One thing...big breakfasts like this don't sit well with walking all over parks. :) I've learned to cut back a little so as to not make myself miserable.

We've always had the skillet for breakfast because it has something for everyone in the family.

Thanks for all this input...trying to decide between the CP (at 10:30 so may get breakfast AND lunch) or Whispering Canyon. This will be the day we check out of BLT so was looking for something close by......

Everyone will have their own opinion on where to eat and what place is best. You can eat at the same place and get two different experiences. I have eaten at both the Crystal Palace and Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast. Actually I'm eating at both on my upcoming trip, lol. In my opinion Crystal Palace's breakfast is better than Whispering Canyon's breakfast. That being said CP is more expensive but you get characters and you don't need park admission for Whispering Canyon.

As much as I love that Western Omelet at Whispering Canyon, I love the breakfast at Crystal Palace even more.

In reference to the above comment about a person eating at the same place and getting two different experiences, though, I agree! And I have something to add. Everytime I have eaten breakfast at Crystal Palace near the end of breakfast time (10 a.m. or later), it has been awful!

The omelet bar was not available. They did not restock items that had run out. The breakfast buffet looked a mess. They did not clean up where people spilled things, and dirty dishes were on the tables for longer periods of time. Crumbs were all over the floors. It looked like a disaster zone.

Everytime I have eaten breakfast at Crystal Palace around 8:30 or 9 a.m., it has been one of the most pristine and beautiful breakfast buffets I have seen. The hot food is hot and fresh. The cold food is nicely chilled. It is a completely different experience from eating later at the same location.

It's amazing what a difference a couple of hours seems to make. If it were me, I would not go to Crystal Palace at 10 a.m. or later, unless things change.

I wouldn't go again. The food was boring and felt like same as anything I could get at counter service. There were no antics from anyone while we were there.
