We have eaten there on multiple occasions for dinner and once for breakfast and we have always had a good time with fairly good to excellent food. I love the Skillet because of the obvious benefits of the all you can eat part of it. Also I think the quality of the food in the skillet is far higher than any of the buffets I have eaten at. The best meal I ever had though was the "Jefros Pork Chops" this was simply incredible in my opinion. As far as overall ambiance goes, there have been times when our server made us the center of attention and others where we have been left completely out of the loop. But even during the later we got a good chuckle out of those around us who got the "full treatment". I may be partial to this restaurant but last time I went I was beleaguered by a series of events that would have ruined any night back home but for some reason all felt well here. It started with my brother-in law and I being cajoled into doing the "buttercup dance" ( you have never seen two larger than average gruff looking guys having more fun) then I broke a tooth on a rib bone (apparently you can't bite right through them) and finally when the bill came I realized that I had left my wallet back at the Yacht Club(I won't even go into the nightmare ride me and the BIL had to endure to retrieve it) But all that said it was still a complete blast.
Cons--it can at times be over-the-top with the antics. My shy teenage son (14) was dragged into a mock shot-gun wedding where he was dressed up and married off to a college age girl and had to sit with her family then she came and sat with our family for part of the meal. Honestly, a bit uncomfortable. Other times, the antics have been a bit tamer. Luck of the draw...
We tried WCC for the first time this past June for lunch. The food was really good but the "experience" was pretty disappointing--our waiter must have been new and he tried but it just wasn't as much fun as I had read about. The food was good enough to make us want to go back but next time we will try dinner--maybe things are a little more lively then.
when we have gone the servers have been pretty good at feeling out who wants to "play " and who doesn't ..at dinner our server was somewhat laid back and since husband is a ham, some of the other servers included him some( left me alone since i am less "ham" like) breakfast was the same way although our server was pretty funny. not that uncomfortable situations( like the above ) never happen but i am more shy and never had a problem( watch me eat my words next time)
