I have a 11:45 reservation for lunch on 31/12. It is the day we are arriving and since we are staying at the WL I figured it would be make for a great lunch place...

Here is the thing - while I am only vaguely aware of things that happen there (something about ketchup) - it just does not sound like the type of stuff we are into... Do you think we could ask to NOT partake in any of the stuff they pull there?

The all you care to eat platter just looks to good to pass up!!! :rotfl:

edited to say: I dont care how loud it is in there or how "busy" the place is. That all I dont mind. I just dont want to get up and bring people ketchup or whatever it is that is involved in the ominous ketchup thing they do...

You can tell the hostess when you check in that you want to be in the quieter section of the restaurant. However, usually, lunch is pretty quiet so I wouldn't think it would be an issue.

As the PP mentioned, you ask to be seated in the quiet section of the restaurant. It's in the back (kind of parallel to the pin kiosk in the lobby). We usually ask to be seated back there and the antics are kept to a minimum. You can also just tell the server that you're not interested in antics if the quiet area is full.

Given that you have a ADR for prime lunchtime during the busy season (Dec 31, right?), I'd guess that the restaurant will be pretty noisy and active. I've only been to lunch once, but it was in October and there was a ton of things happening in the main dining room. It was an okay experience, but after that we've always asked for the quiet room.

I'm glad someone asked this. I want to eat there but I don't want to deal with any of the antics.

Trouble is that you must still see and hear the "antics"--as we were subjected to the one and only time we went.

Things like the servers yelling "Yahoo" and "Yeehah" at the top of their lungs every few seconds. Or banging their serving trays on the floor. Or blowing those paper straw coverings at patrons.

And then there's that catsup yelling, and oh yes, probably a childrens stick horse ride around the restaurant.

And to add insult to injury--the food wasn't that good either:)

I am so glad I am not alone with not wanting to partake. i was a little afraid i was going to be called a party pooper. :rotfl2:

I know how to have fun and making an *** out of my self isnt one of them :thumbsup2

Ill keep my reservations :-). Thank you.

Is this a bad place to eat? We have reservations for this Saturday evening? Planning on sitting down to a nice quiet dinner! What is the catchup thing? Should we make reservations for a different place? How is the food?

I'm afraid there's no such thing as a nice quiet dinner at WCC :rotfl2:
Nice, possibly - quiet, not likely. There is a quietER section, near the back of the restaurant, but as pp mentioned, you're still in earshot of the noise. It isn't a bad place to eat - just very. . . enthusiastic.

I liked the food better when there was just an actual menu, but I hear it's still pretty decent grub - we haven't tried the skillet/platter meal.

The 'catsup thing': if some poor soul asks for it, the servers make a production of rounding up every bottle they can find, and presenting it to the 'victim' as loudly as possible. It's all in good fun, but does make for a rather disruptive romantic dinner :rolleyes1

It's short notice, but you might want to take a look at Artist Point. Now that can indeed be a nice quiet dinner ::yes:: We've had our ups and downs with it, but it's been far more ups.

The whole ketchup thing is done by the kids, when someone asks for ketchup, most kids in the restaurant go and get it for you. You won't have to get it or take it elsewhere. The noise level will be high, even at lunch, with you being there on NYE. My family enjoys it, and since it is your first afternoon there, even if it bothers you, that means the rest of the vacation can only get better.

If you don't want to get up and bring people ketchup, then don't. You don't have to.

When we were there in October, our server was a little sassy and sarcastic and they kind of yell back and forth to the other servers. It's funny.

Things like calling my dad (69 years old) Grandpa, and asking if he wanted his meal pureed so he could drink it through a straw. Stuff like that. My DH was in a rotten mood that morning, and the server noticed, so he sensed that and backed off from my DH, until I told him to lay it on thicker. LOL

But if you don't want to get up and participate, then don't.

Dinner, is anything but quiet. If you want quiet, I suggest somewhere else.
