Whispering Canyon Cafe - staying off property

Last visit to WDW we stayed at Wilderness Lodge and as a last minute meal before we left we ate at Whispering Canyon. Not only was the food good, the kids had the best time and actually asked if we could go back there for our upcoming visit. We're planning to stay off property and have fairly full days - only four days will be at Disney parks. What are the options for getting to Wilderness Lodge - is there parking for non resort guests? And cost for parking even if we've paid earlier in the day at Hollywood Studios for example? Or is it easier to tie in with a visit to MK and take the boat, then take the boat back to get our car?

If you have a reservation at WCC, they will usually allow you to park in the WL lot as long as they're not full. There's no charge for parking.

It would be easiest to take a boat over from MK when you're at that park.

Otherwise you can drive over. Just tell the guard you are dining at WCC.

Looking at our schedule I'm thinking we may do MNSSHP on a day with nothing else planned - just an easy morning. If we had an early dinner at WCC, like around 4pm, and parked at WL for dinner, could we keep the car there to take the boat to the party? Or would we need to move the car to TTC?

You would need to move the car to TTC. You can park there while dining but the parking is for resort guests only. This is a really hot button issues for most deluxe resort guests as there isn't enough parking while staying there, especially those around the MK. Be easier just to park the car at TTC to start with & then take boat from MK across to WL.

That's a really good idea, since we'll need to leave early on our "full" MK day because of MNSSHP.
