Whispering Canyon Cafe - How long to dine here? And 2 Different Scenarios...

The first time we dined at WCC, it was ideal... fun server, silly antics, & good service - meaning, we had fun, but we were only there for about an hour.

The last time we dined at WCC, it was not so ideal... boring server, we watched everyone else have fun, & poor service - meaning, we didn't have as much fun & we were there FOREVER!

I don't really mind a lag (so much) between courses, but I *hate* when we're done & ready to leave & we just sit there waiting on our check & then wait some more on our server to bring our check/kttw card back.

Last time, it wasn't as bad as it could have been because we had just planned to hang out at our resort (the WL) for the remainder of the evening anyway... but, had we something to do (like going back into a park), it would have been awful!

Fast-forward to this year, I'm planning WCC for our arrival night. If the MNSSHP is scheduled for our arrival night, then it doesn't matter. However, if the MK is open (not closed due to the party), then it matters! After we eat at WCC, we want to go back to the MK & watch the parade & Wishes.

So, my question -

In everyone's recent experience, is it possible to have a 5:30-ish ADR at WCC, & still have time to get back to the MK (possibly ride some rides) & stake out a place for the parade & Wishes?

Which leads up to the next question. Which of the following two scenarios look like they would work better?

Scenario #1

Arrival Night - Dinner at WCC/Evening at MK

MNSSHP Day - Morning at MK/Lunch at CRT/Resort Afternoon/Dinner at MK Counter/Party

Scenario #2

Arrival Night - Dinner at CRT/Evening at MK

MNSSHP Day - Morning at MK/Lunch at WCC/Resort Afternoon/Dinner at MK Counter/Party

I think I've about talked myself into Scenario #2... at least right now. What I've decided changes daily!!

You will get uneven service at WCC. In addition to serving you the CM is also required to act like a fool for your entertainment. That ofcourse has + and -.Your ADR is early enough so there should be no problem getting out of WCC in time. For your scenario #2 seems much less stressful.

I go for scenario #2 as well. Love WCC and to me it's worth the extra time. But as pp said, it is never the same service, so it's sort of a crap shoot.
