Hi - Can someone please tell me if all of the fun "hijinks" also happen during their breakfast. :jester:

Thanks!

Yes, but to a much lesser degree. Maybe they think people won't be able to handle it that early in the morning. ;)

We had both brk and dinner. Breakfast was quite when we went. It was just regular sit-down service.

If our breakfast there was in any way more subdued than dinner, I'd hate to be there for dinner. We had the whole spectrum of hijinks--the constant YiiHa's! of the servers, banging carts on the floor, the "horsey race", banging silverware on the tables, screams of "Catsup" and "Spoon"--etc etc. And pretty sorry food to go along with all of it. First time in a long while I had eggs over "raw"--.

Oh My.....we got a barrel full of hijinx when we were there for breakfast last time.... But my DS asked for it!!! He was really annoying our waiter, Marshall Zeke, (in a fun way, Marshall was edging him on too!). Before we knew it, Marshall Zeke had our DS, then 12, leading the hokey pokey!!! DS had SO much fun, but he loves that kind of stuff!

On the other hand, our youngest wants no part of it and I will say that the CMs must know, because they are friendly to him, but never really "bothered" him with the hijinx.

We are having breakfast there on Christmas morning and can't wait!!!

Karen

But what's wrong with hijinks???

Whispering Canyon doesn't claim to be V and A's.
Isn't Disney supposed to be a fun place???
The wait staff at Whispering Canyon is a stitch.

And I thought the food was pretty good at breakfast.
Perfect biscuits, and the au gratin potatoes were quite yummy.

I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea.
But not everyone starches their collars.

if you do not know what to expect efore you arrive they can be a BIG surprise.

we were going to eat here until we read about them. I am not against them, but we have established a set of rules for our child about behavior in a restaurant and needless to say the hijinx do not fit in with them. It is hard to explain to a 3 year old that it is alright to act up and run aroudn in one eating establihment, but not another.
I am sure once he is old enough to understand this we will try it, but for now it is on our off list.

Personally, I think I'd like it, but I am not sure the wife would be thrilled.

I have never seen anyone:

1) Complain while inside Whispering Canyon

2) Have a bad time while inside WC.

Ah-- if only you had been there the morning I was!

One good thing though--no one can ever make me go back.

YI HAH!!!

We have always enjoyed WCC. MIL and FIL thought the fun was hilarious. The fried chicken is yummy.

We ate there twice. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. B'fast was much more low-key....there were 3 adults in our party, so not much happened but "lettucehead" (what they called her) threw our straws at us...LOL

Dinner---wow. All I can say is that was our first time and if you dont have kids, it might be a bit distracting to you. Personally, I like to eat my dinner is somewhat peace and quiet, but it was all funny!! Our waitress threw our straws at us, called us by what we were wearing (me-Tigger b/c of tigger hat, hubby Levi b/c of Levi shirt and my sister was called flipper b/c of dolphin earrings she was wearing) I thought that was cute. She would make us taste each others food, she threw some rolls at my hubby, and he threw one back at her, stuff like that. It was all really cute. I enjoyed it alot, but wouldnt go back again for dinner. The ribs were quite tough too, but pretty good.

You really have to wanna go and have some fun for this meal. It was really a hoot.

WCC is a little over the top for DW and I @ dinner, but we both liked it for breakfast. I seem to recall some games, but it was definately more subdued. BIM that it has been more than a year since we last ate there.

Hey Tig,

I am Heada Lettuce aka Lettuce Head but I work dinner not breakfast.

Oh my gosh!!!! :)

Well, I didnt actually put my post in the order on how we did it, but I knew there was a "LettuceHead" in my meals somewhere!!

I know you have so many customers, and you cant remember all of them, but we were 3 adults from Bama and my sister was living with us and drove 90 miles to and from work---Ring a Bell anywhere???

Anyway, you were fun and I liked the way you threw the straws and stuff at us...pretty funny. :)

You were really upbeat and outgoing. :) I could never be that upbeat!! LOL

'TIGGER' -as you called me!

Hey Tig,

Your story does sound familiar. Did your sister tell me she drives miles in one direction for school or to drop a son off at school and then miles in the other direction for work? Maybe that was someone else. I guess I should start taking notes!!

Glad you had a good time at dinner. I see you are staying at the Lodge in January for your anniversary. Even if you don't eat dinner, please stop by to say hello!!

Yep!! That was us....she had blonde hair...:)

You told us about not wanting to "spoil" your little girl with bringing her to the parks all the time, that you took her only when special things were going on...I remember that. :)

Yea, we are wanting to stay at the GF, but cant find any available rooms, so we booked the WL again. We love it there. :)

We will stop by and say hey, AS LONG AS YOU THROW SOME STRAWS AT MY HUBBY (Levi... as you called him LOL). That was cute. You do a really good job! Even tho' Im kinda shy and stay away from that sort of thing, it was still fun to watch you! :)

It is so cool cause I told my hubby about you posting on here and he just thought that was so neat! You never know who you are gonna run into here! :)

I've been to WCC a few times for dinner and always thought that the folks there do very well at quickly determining who wants to 'play' and who doesn't (I always do).

Hey there, Heada!

Russ (who once upon a time had the pleasure of standing in the center of WCC while Heada led the rest of the guests in a napkin-waving, finger-pointing chant of "Russ, eat yer greens!")

So--we can now add food throwing as part of the "hijinks".
Maybe I should rethink my position on never going back--
But first I need to know:
Can you throw food at other patrons?? Or just the server??

And is it limited to rolls and straws? How about mashed potatoes? Scrambled eggs?? Ice Cream??? Maybe a utensil, or a small plate would be OK too??

"All I can say is,

Well, then you haven't met my family!

Yes we did complain, and no we DID NOT have a good time!
