Whirlwind Trippers Strike Again:The One With the Broken Arm*DONE! PG 5*PICS ADDED!!

Rhonda, that was a fabulous, touching report. Trust me, I know the "OMG, they're growing up!" feelings well. But, as I tell everyone, every age brings new, special things. It is bittersweet looking at those cute little boy pictures (we don't even have videos!), but it's so great being able to have "grown up" conversations with them now. They continually amaze me with their intelligence and insight. AND....they can get me beers when I'm chatting :teeth:

Mark, thanks for posting all the pics. I agree with Steph. I CAN'T Believe how big Wesley's getting. You can still see that little boy joy on his cute little face, though! If I was a disney character (or a "hottie"!), I'd blow him kisses, too!!!

Another wonderful Whirlwind Tripper report! Thanks again for taking the time to share your visit with us. I love the before & after shots of the cast! I can't believe how quickly Wesley is growing compared to earlier pictures you've posted. When I read that Cinderellabration was ending, y'all are the first people I thought of. I'm glad to hear you'll be making a farewell visit to see it once more.

Love your report and the pics. You all look happy given circumstance in which you went. Can't wait to read the next one. :)

Great pics, Mark! Steph is right. Man, that kid's growing fast!

Thank you for sharing that trip report... the pictures were wonderful!! Can't wait till your next report :thumbsup2

Aww you guys, those are some great pictures.
You are such a cute family.
Thank you so much for sharing everything with us.

:moped: Thanks!

Thanks!

The pics are GREAT!

HE is SO cute.

Wesley is a fine looking lad, too.

Heh heh.

Cheers, Mel.

:moped:

great pics - and thanks for posting....Rhonda - you pretty much summed it up for me with your feelings on this is the "best" age...my ped seems to always tell me each time I go in - this is the "best" age, and you know I think he's right!!

you guys are just too cute. love the photos - especially the cast, how cool is that!

I don't usually read trip reports, but it was an easy read! Thanks!
I was wondering, what is the story behind your picture with the cast from Cinderellabration?

The look of joy on Wesley's face ... wow. One happy kid - lucky parents. Lucky kid, too - to have such great parents. :thumbsup2

I know he won’t be this way forever. I know that one day (much sooner than I want it to be) he will decide that the princesses aren’t “hotties” after all, just yucky girls. Already, a chapter in his Disney life has closed. I mentioned in a previous report how much he used to love Toy Story. He cradled the movie boxes in his arms at night, and would wake up in the mornings talking to Woo-wy and Buh. Just two nights ago, I asked him which pin he wanted to take off his lanyard, to make room for his new Goofy pin. Imagine my surprise when he said “the one with Woody, Jessie and Buzz”. Really? I questioned. That’s the one you want to take off? Yeah, he replied, casually. I’m not really into Woody and Buzz anymore. I left his room, and burst into tears. My 4 year old has left behind his “babyish” fascination with Woo-wy and Buh, his first true Disney loves.

But Disney, just like life, is an ever-evolving thing. His Toy Story phase was replaced by a Peter Pan phase… that has largely, but not completely, been replaced by his long-lasting Sleeping Beauty phase. He’s over the Wiggles, and into Little Einsteins. Eventually, he’ll move on to films such as Pirates of the Caribbean. One day, we’ll stop riding Pooh, and start riding Rock n Roller Coaster.

You mean I'm going to wake up one day and Connor won't love Buzz and Woody anymore?!?!?! No one told me that!!! I'm crying already at the thought...well, mostly from reading your touching words about your relationship with Wesley. Our sons are very close in age...Connor will be 4 come January, but already is growing up too fast. Every day someone says how much of a little man he's becoming, not a little boy anymore and it's all I can do to keep from crying. I'm so afraid of the day when I won't be able to cuddle with him in our rocking chair because he's too big or the day he won't want to hug me anymore because he's embarrassed to be hugging his "mom". No one tells you about the heartbreak of being a parent. I can remember when he was a baby saying that I couldn't wait for him to grow up and start walking and talking...now I'd give just about anything to have him as a baby again.

I'm going to make sure to let dh read this when he comes home in the morning. I want to reinforce to him, and to me, why I love going back to Disney, and why I continue to want to go back every chance I get. I know we could find these moments in everyday life here at home, but there just seems to be so much more magic at Disney and the memories I have from there are so much brighter somehow. Sure Disney will always be there, but at the lightning speed our kids grow up, the moments we can steal to be together as a family surrounded by the Disney magic need to be captured when they can. :wizard:

I want to thank you too. I will be digging out our video camera and watching Connor's first trip to the world as soon as I sign off here. We didn't take it with us on this latest trip, and although I have pictures, it's just not the same. I will for certain be taking on our next trip...which I think I will sooner rather than later!

And buy that boy another lanyard!!! ;)

thanks Rhonda! That was ONE WHIRLWIND REPORT 4SURE! That little Wesley just gets cuter every time you post! He is getting so big! He looks like a little guy now...

(yeah that Mark is ok too I guess...)

anyway....Glad to see you made lemonade out of lemons. Wonderful! The viking hats are the highlight though.

Great job as usual.

Hi Rhonda,
I always enjoy your reports. From way back when,

Just a heads up, we see more of the orthopedic, than our pediatrician. Maybe if my 3 would stop racing 4 wheelers, there wouldn't be so many broken bones in our family. Wasn't Wesley in any pain in the beginning?

Thank you Rhonda for another great report. I am so glad you are still finding the MAGIC at Disney. I feel like we are all part of your family here on the Dis. I remember when are kids were young and we took our yearly trips to WDW & Disneyland and how much fun we had as a family. Thanks Mark for the great pictures. Hope your family keeps making new memories at our favorite place WDW. I just heard today about the new parade at the MK starting later this month. I'm really looking forward to that on our next trip in October. Take Care Ron & Tina..... :)

Rhonda - Loved the Pics. Wesley looks adorable and happy even though he has to wear the cast. I would wear a cast too if you guys took me :teeth:

Oh, my whirlwind tripper friends, this was a lovely tale. I can feel wesley's joy jump off the screen. I have to tell you, I have wanted to freeze every age and stage, even with my 12 year old! You expressed the bittersweet passing of time so well. I remember the day Buzz and Woody no longer ruled our house, but there will be fun new passions around every corner! Thank you for sharing your family and the Magic you have with the Disney characters. If everyone understood the special magic the way your family does, the crowds would be relentless:)!

Rhonda,

I wanted to let you know your husband's was the first TR I ever read. I had been in the chat for a long time but had not seen the reports. I laughed until I cried. I fell in love with your family! You are very blessed indeed.

You touched me with your comments about Wesley outgrowing Buh and Woowy. The truth is they never really outgrow them. My sons are ten and eleven and have been to WDW more than 30 times. We do not live in FL  so they are not Whirlwind trips, but methodically planned out trips. My boys were infants when Buzz and Woody first came to the big screen. They have passed through all phases of Disney, but they still cling to their originals. They may not "wear the pin" on their lanyards anymore, but they still wear it in their hearts. We do spend a lot of time on those roller coasters, but they still insist on riding Pooh and Dumbo as well! What is cool is remembering them as toddlers riding while you are looking into their almost teenage faces.

I also have a daughter and she just turned five. She is still very much into the princesses and Fantasyland, but also loves the fast choo choo (BTMRR) and that really zooming car (Test Track).

You are absolutely right! It gets better with each phase.

Having been a lover and studier of everything Walt since I was a child, I have no doubt Walt is very proud when he watches you, Mark and Wesley romp through his park in search of hotties and all that magic.

By the way, I am Rhonda too! and also with that often left out H!

I will be there in Septmeber watching with tears my final viewing of Cinderellabration. After all, that is my TEN year old sons favorite thing to do!

One more thing about growing up--when my ten year old was four he was chosen to be Gaston in Story Time with Belle. This past June at age 10 he was chosen again. Mawwy me Beww turned into Marry Me Belle right before my eyes!

Have a very blessed day.
