(Whine....) "Why can't I get 7 for 4? All the other kids get it!"

I would like it if we could use points for the dining plan!

That cannot happen. There is a clause in the contract that points are only for accomodations.

With with 7 for 4 ticket price, the point I was trying to make is CRO makes it sound like it's a huge discount, it's really not. The 7 for 4 package is really not much different than a 40% room discount but it's pushing people to longer stays.

And I suspect (though don't know) that a kid's AP would do.
It used to, but they closed that loophole a while ago.

It would be cool if they threw hopping on free for DVC members or something....for those of us that don't have travel patterns that make the AP discount anything other than wistful.
The thing about the DVC discounts is that almost all of them require you to spend money to save money---shopping, dining, activity discounts, but nothing "free". Valet parking is perhaps the one exception.

well, as a newbie I will add my 2 cents- we are a family of 5 and for us to be in a room that has enough room it would be expensive - that is one of the main reasons we joined DVC this past Sept. we haven't even been "home" yet. Plus we will have a kitchen to make meals - also saving us money. We looked at the long time picture - we make 4 trips and it is like we paid for our DVC already. we have been to Disney twice during free dinning but the girls are starting school next year and we will be locked into "Jersey Week" or the end of August unless we go mid summer:scared1: We have not figured out yet which is better - to buy non expiring tickets or AP's yet. But if APs are the way to go then the TIW card will be in my wallet also. so we definately see this for the long term gains.

I know, and I don't think they would. But as someone who used to get to take advantage of the UPH discount, and now doesn't really take advantage of the AP discount (we sometimes have one for the TiW), it would be nice - not necessarily in Disney's best interest in anything other than loyalty - but not necessarily very expensive for them either as there isn't any overhead involved in hopping - just lost revenue if members don't need to buy it. (Then again, its gravy revenue). Disney isn't getting anything giving us the AP discount except loyalty - I suspect that one lowers revenues for them - and increases the number of people in the park using resources, but not necessarily spending money (DVC members tend to have all the souvenirs they want).

The TiW card is a discount card you purchase for $60 after you have an AP. It generally gets you a discount of 20% off table service meals
Many DVCers prefer the TiW to the DDP.

Ok so now I am doing the math and if we only buy one AP (instead of 8 day hopper) and one TIW we will spend more money upfront but saving 20% on food in the long run will save us $$. Also we are going to VB in August so we could still use that TIW, right? I already have ressies for Cinderalla's Royal Table. I need to check if I can change it to show the TIW card. The savings on that meal alone is a lot! Ohh I love this site!! :goodvibes
