Originally, Pop was intended to cover the area currently used by both resorts. However, construction was halted and the 2nd half of the Pop Resort was never built. Instead, the area became the separate- themed Art of Animation.
Having never stayed at AofA, I still feel comfortable recommending Pop. I have never seen Pop rooms priced higher than AofA.
As was mentioned, AofA's food court used to be slightly better than Pop (for example- Pop offered premade omelets during breakfast while AofA offered a choose-your-own, made-to-order omelet). However, in recent experiences, the two food courts were very similar- in other words, AofA's food court has been downgraded to Pop-level.
When staying at Pop, I always stroll over to AofA during my stay.
I love the Hourglass Lake walking path encircling the boundaries of both resorts.
