We have 4 TS credits, but more than 4 meals, so which of the following would you pay OOP for ? It is my understanding that dessert is included in a TS, but not an appet. anymore. In some instances I'd rather have the appet. than a dessert....(in some cases I'd rather have both !!)

50's Prime Time Cafe
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Narcoossee's (this is one place I like the appet. more than dessert w/ current viewable menu) I know TSx2
Teppan Edo
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)

non alcoholic drinks included ? What about tip/gratuity ? (I can't keep up with the changes).

Which dining plan are you on? When we did the deluxe dining plan, we were allowed one appetizer, entree and dessert at table services. Tip is not included.

If I had to pay OOP for 1, I'd go with 50's Prime Time. It would be cheaper than paying for the breakfast buffet per person at 1900 Park Fare (I think it's like $23 per adult and $13 per child there). :goodvibes

I would also pay for 50's Prime Time. It is cheaper than the others. My dining plan last time did not let us get appetizers, just an entree, drink, and dessert. It was the regular plan....

We paid OOP for Narcoossee's last trip. It just made more sense to me than using 2 TS credits.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Paying OOP for signature is better than paying OOP for a 1TS location because the sigs use twice as many credits but do not cost twice as much money. Especially true if you'd rather have an app than dessert at Narcoosee's.

Non-alcoholic drinks are included on the DDP.

Tips are not.

We sometimes pay OOP for 2 TS at Yachtsmen
This year we are OOP for 50's for lunch because it is so cheap and that will leave room for a 2 TS @ for Narcosses or another 1 ts meal.

DH sometimes pays for breakfast as well.

I would look at the menus and see what you would order and then then most expensive ones use as credits and the cheaper ones pay oop.

Definitely 50's would be the cheapest one. We too are paying out of pocket for one meal (Sci-Fi which has similar prices) so we could do one 2 table service meal this time.

I'd do Narcoossee's. It's a 2 TS dinner, so you would have to pay oop for 2 meals if you put that one on the dining plan.

I did a cost comparison myself and I always came out better paying oop for a signature meal if I was on the regular dining plan. HTH.

I was thinking that Narcoossee's would be the way to go. I am not fond of their current dessert menu, but do like a few appetizers. Only thing is I told DS (age7) he could get a steak and that is like $13. (Oh well, it is vacation, I wouldn't go if I couldn't afford it.) I think I will cost analyze like suggested. Thanks !!
How do you maximize your snacks ? Can you get a treat in the bakery in WDW (on Main Street)? We will be there in early June, it can be very hot, I want to keep us hydrated. But, we are cruising for 5 nights first, so not sure if packing water will be an option. One 20 oz water doesn't go very far between 3 people and it uses a snack credit.

Check out the menu prices at allears.net. Generally, breakfast is cheaper than the other meals, so maybe 1900 Park Fare.

I recently celebrated my 20th birthday at Narcoosse's, and it was one of hte best meals I have ever had in disney. I had the fillet and it was AMAZING. The pototo au gratin that came with it was to die for. We started with the Rhode Island Calamari and it was definately a great way to start the meal. If you go there for your birthday they actually can put your name on the menu and you get your own personalized one to take home. The people there are great, the chef even gave me a donald duck pin when i was leaving. Great choice, beautiful location, quality food.

When we are on the DP, we use the snack credits for quick, on-the-go breakfasts. Most of the CS and snack places have muffins, bagels, sweet rolls, fruit cups, and yogurt parfaits that can be purchased with snack credits. We do it this way as it seems to maximize the values of the other meals (CS lunches and TS dinners). We eat so much on the DP that we are never looking for snacks anyway. Plus we want to spend as little time as possible on breakfast, since we want to be in the parks in the early mornings.

Narcoossee's is one of our favorites, we rarely miss !! DH has never had anything but the surf and turf there, loves it. I have experimented a bit. Last time there (DS was just turning 5) we paid OOP for all meals because you couldn't get the meal packages with a land and sea deal. Anyway, DS ate most of my lobster.:scared1: This year he gets his own meal !!
