I don't know if this is the best place for this, so mods please move it if it needs to be.
I am taking a trip in the fall with my mom and my 3 year old DD. The trip is mostly for the 3 year old since she now has a new sister at home a we wanted to give her a little time just for her.
Anyway, should we book a room at AKL and do the regular dining plan or book a mod and do the deluxe dining plan. With the deluxe we would take advantage of eating in the castle and doing the luau and adding on a couple more character meals or maybe switch some character meals for breakfast and eat some non character dinners. We are only going for a short trip, 4 nights. I should also add we are going for a slow paced trip. We were there last year and plan to go back in 2012 with the whole family. So we aren't trying to see and do everything.

Here is what we are planning so far. . .
Dinners
Chef Mickey's
Boma
1900 Park Fare
Princess storybook @ Epcot

We would might do
Ohana breakfast and crystal palace out of pocket.

i just need some other points of view, Thanks!

I may be a cynic but I'm not sure a 3 year old is really going to care where you eat..... (aside from princesses). Keep in mind that just because you hope/plan to eat some place does not mean you will be able to get in. If you use a lot of buffets, you will trade out time in the parks for transport time to/from dinner and the dinners themselves, but that may be fine with you if you are planning a slower paced trip.

You're right, besides the character meals she doesn't care but she LOVED the characters last fall and seems to still feel the same way now. (loved the easter bunny etc.) So I do want to get in a bunch of character meals to keep her entertained while we eat.
As far as getting the ADR's so far everything I have been looking at is still available (however that will change quickly if FD comes out) I did make ADR's for the meals we want if we are on the regular dining plan.
It will take more time than i would like but I was thinking breakfast and than mostly 2credit dinner (luau, CRT, maybe even california grill) I wouldn''t think that would take too much of our time if we plan accordingly but I don't know.

I think the Deluxe may cause you 2 spend a lot of park time eating, I think that the regular DP would be great, You could Use the credits 2 eat in the castle if U wanted,Now if you want to just take time and enjoy the parks at a slower pace and enjoy yourself with the Greatness of the WDW restaraunts then do the Deluxe

I would say if you are doing the 2 credit places and it saves you money, then I would do the DDP and stay at a mod. I'm sure your DD doesn't care where you stay either and mods are still nice. Plus from AKL you still have to take a bus to all the parks, so personally I don't think its an advantage that way over a mod.
