we are trying to cut out some TS meals. We have 8 reserved and 6 on our dining plan. On our Epcot day we have 2 TS reservations: Coral Reef at 1:15 for lunch and Akershus at 7:55 for dinner. There are 10 of us-7 adults and my 3 kids, boys 11 and 7 and daughter 9. At Coral Reef I am concerned because my daughter and I don't like seafood but my youngest loves it; Akershus concerns me because some of the menu items are questionable and I'm not sure we will be done in time to see Illuminations. Any thoughts or opinions?!

We have eaten at the Coral Reef twice. There are other items to choose from other then seafood. The first time we ate there, I had the New York Strip Steak. It was okay. I may have caught them on an evening where they weren't on top of things. The last time I went, I got a lobster & shrimp pasta dish that was GREAT. They also had a chicken dish that my sister had. The dessert was good also. The dinning room is surrounded by a huge aquarium with sharks, fish and sea turtles to keep the kids entertained. I have not eaten at the other place you mentioned. I would double check the menus at both places to see what comes closest to your needs. You can also check "Trip Advisor" reviews on both places.

I would probably keep the Coral Reef. I personally love Akershus, but it's not for everyone, and if Illuminations is important, an ADR at 7:55 is not ideal.

I've eaten at both places and I would probably pick Coral Reef, though I wasn't overly impressed with either location. I really didn't like the food at Akershus (the buffet part was good, just not the entree) and the princess interaction was only so-so. At Coral Reef, I liked the food, but was disappointed in the ambiance- we were a larger party as well and were seated in the very back of the restaurant so we really didn't have a good view of any fish. For us, I won't book either of the restaurants again.

We have always had good experiences at Coral Reef. Its really neat with views of the tank. The food has always been great and I usually go with a bunch of people who hate seafood. There's plenty of other items to choose.

I've had an 8:10pm reservation at Akershus and was done right as Illuminations started.

I would cancel Coral Reef. There are so many places to eat in Epcot, I would not choose TS for lunch.
