Which would you choose?

I may have an opportunity to go to DL in a couple of weeks during dd's fall break. DH has the time off and suggested we go and use our AP's one last time. They expire 10/4. We would try to do the Halloween party while we are there as the kiddos love it. This sounds great except that we just got back from WDW on 9/10 and I would like to wait a little bit.

The other option is sometime early in December to see the Christmas decorations. But dd would have to miss school. Plus our AP's would not be good making it a more expensive trip before Christmas.

So which would you choose under the circumstances DL at Halloween which we have done the last few years or Christmas which we have never done? Thanks for reading.

Well, first question is How far away do you live? Do you need to fly or is it a quick drive?

Is paying for tickets difficult before Christmas? Any kind of trip right before Christmas is always hard for us.

I would say if its a quick drive do the halloween trip! It would turn out quite cheap that way.

Well we live in AZ so we could drive or fly easily. Depending on the price of the ticket we have done both in the past. Thanks for the input.

I guess I should add one more thing. I think a better way to phrase what I am asking is whether the Christmas decorations and holiday cheer is worth the extra hassle and expense. :)

christmas one id pick i like that time alot cant do both so im doing halloween but next year were doing wdw christmas time

I would definitely choose Halloween. It is such a neat time to be in DL. Yes, the Christmas decorations are fantastic, but the crowds are also much larger generally. If you have the money to afford the trip in Oct as opposed to Dec then, do it then. It will give you an opportunity to get one last use out of your AP's and maybe pick up some Christmas presents. That way you can still feel the Disney magic at Christmas!

Im going to go the opposite on that one....seeing as you go all the time during Halloween I would do Christmas...now it all depends on when you would be going...if you can get to DL anywhere from the week after Thanksgiving through 2nd week in Dec. then the crowd factor shouldnt be an issue...some people think the candlelight processional brings in huge crowds and in my experience it hasnt been a problem for the park during the days...also 8th and 9th it will close early for cm party but other than that you really wont have crowds and you will get the full affect of christmas time at DL in all its glory..only you can weigh the cost of going and having to pay extra for passes and having your dd miss school though...where were you planning on staying??? you could cut some cost with that so then it will even out for the park hoppers

Definitely Christmas. Don't miss the GCH and you can also get a bunch of great Christmas pics for your Christmas cards.
