Hi everyone! So.... I am leaving for Disney World this Saturday and I am currently second guessing myself. We will be eating dinner at Epcot on both June 6 and June 7. My family loves both Italian and Asian food. The repitition of Asian food is not a concern. We definitely want to go to Teppan Edo for one of the nights. However, we are unsure about the other. Here are the possible combinations:
Teppan Edo and Nine Dragons
Teppan Edo and Tutto Italia
Teppan Edo and Via Napoli

All restaurants have availability on both nights. I am also concerned about Tutto Italia and Via Napoli since I can't view their menus. In addition, Tutto Italia has recently changed their menu. Which restaurants are the best of the 4 for food, atmosphere, service, and overall experience? Which would you choose and/or go back to yourself?? Also, if anyone has any information about the menus I would appreciate that. Thank you for any and all advice and opinions that you can share!!
Debbie

I was pleasantly surprised on my last visit by Nine Dragos. We were there right after their refurb in June 09, and it was really very good. Attentive staff, good food and overall a very fun trip. We're going back in July.

Teppan Edo is always a must do, more for the atmosphere than the food, IMHO, though the food is well done.

Via Napoli wasn't open last time I went, but we'll be there this trip. Looks like a blast, and I'm curious to see if it is even possible to make good pizza in Florida, as in 30 years of traveling down there to the swampy peninsula I have yet to find any.

Tutto Italia, IMHO, is easily skippable. I miss Alfredo's dearly, and our one trip to Tutto was disappointing. The food was mediocre, and the prices were astoundingly high, even for Disney. The best thing about it was the staff, who are always a blast, but the irreverant fun of Alfredo's has all but been leached out of that place by the DDP, which encourages table turnover rather than raucous 3 hour dinners ... so the staff doesn't engage in the fun as much as they used to.

We did Tutto a few weeks ago, and it was excellent. The veal I got was great, very well cooked, the mashed potatoes were some of the best I've had, and the dessert trio they now have is particularly great. The prices may be a little high if you're not on DDP, but if you are, I'd definitely go with it (also depending on how pizza-loving your group is; Via Napoli is pretty much all pizza, while Tutto Italia doesn't really serve it).

i've only eaten at 2 of your 4 - teppan edo and tutto italia

we love teppan edo...thought the food was very good...
tutto italia was pretty, but the food was so so...

but that's just one person's opinion...

Thanks for your opinions so far. I would love to hear more opinions to get a better idea.

Teppan Edo and Nine Dragons

we loved the meal we had at Nine Dragons, when we go back Oct 2012 we intend to do it atleast twice.

I have only been to one of those: Nine Dragons.

I thought the food quality and atmosphere were excellent. However, I would probably not go there again unless I were on the deluxe dining plan. I say that because we were there on a CP package paid OOP and got the appetizer, drink, entree, dessert deal. We were pleasantly filled at the end of the meal. For me, the appetizer was most interesting part of the meal. All of the entrees were wonderful, but nothing particularly unique. So, I would only go there again if I would also be getting an appetizer. Great place though!

Just curious as to why you cant view the menu's??? Click this link, and find the restaurant you want. http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm#epc
Maybe that'll help you?? good luck!

Sorry for the confusion. To clarify, I was able view all of the menus on allears.net but I am paranoid I like to view the official menus off of www.disneyworld.com. However, neither Tutto Italia or Via Napoli have a menu on www.disneyworld.com. Are the menus on allears.net accurate and up to date? Thank you for all of your opinions. Keep them coming!

i voted Teppan Edo and Tutto. last year my sons were 11,9, and 2. It was everyone's favorite meal of the whole week for food and atmosphere. We eat in upscale restaurants a lot and all our food at Tutto was excellent. I had this marscapone ice cream and berry dessert that I still dream about. DGrandma and I had a glass of wine and sighed with the peace of the place after rushing around the parks all day. Of course, this was a year ago. Don't know if it has changed.

This year we are trying Via Napoli instead just to give but a try but we may well regret not going back to Tutto. My sons are fascinated by the revolving concept at Garden Grill, so we have to do that our other Epcot dinner. If I could pick another Epcot meal, it would be Tutto without question.

The official Disneyworld site will only have menus from the TS restaurants that Disney operates such as Nine Dragons. The other restaurants you listed are owned by outside companies.

Tutto and Via Napoli are owned by the Patina Restaurant Group. Here's a recent thread that includes Tutto's menu as of late April - see post # 2.

Menus on websites such as allears and wdwinfo are submitted by members so their timeliness and accuracy are dependent on the individuals who are thoughtful enough to submit/post them for the rest of us.

To see the most up to date menu you will have to stop by the restaurant on the day you're at Epcot.

DH and I will be trying Teppan Edo, Tutto Italia and Via Napoli for the first time this October so I am reading this thread with interest.

I voted for Teppan Edo and Via Napoli(over Tutto Italia and Nine Dragons) since if I had to choose two those would be my choices.

The pizza at Via Napoli looks very good and has rec'd many good reviews and its being one of the newer places in Epcot.

I truly appreciate you directing me to this thread. I am also very appreciative of those that update allears and wdwinfo. The only reason why I was looking for the "official" menu was to make sure that there was something that DH would like since he said he would only have one dish from the allears menu. I just wanted to make sure it was correct so he is not disappointed if we choose to go there. I am loving the suggestions. Keep them coming. Thank you all!
