Which World Showcase film?

I'm not sure I'm understanding why people are mentioning a film in The American Adventure pavilion. Are you referring to the pre show of the American Adventure show? If so, it is not comparable to the films in China, France and Canada, because it's followed by one of the most powerful and moving audio anamatronic show on property.

I think Jeff mentioned the American Adventure because the film portions are intermingled with the animatronics. The pilgrim migration, "Two Brothers", and the "Golden Dream" montage are special to me.

But if I had a choice of the Circlevision films or the 270º movie in France, I'd choose France. I like the other two, but often I wish I could rest my feet for a while, and I love the scenes in France set to music by French composers.

I think the movie in Norway is beautiful, and the line for the ride is longer than the movie! I suggest you see it for yourself rather than rely on comments from others about dying of boredom.

I think the Norway film is underrated. The scenery is gorgeous!! I haven't died from boredom yet! :yay:

1) Canada - circle vision is awesome, Short is funny
2) China - again love the circle vision and gives a good feel for the country's layout
3) France - nice theatre, beautiful pictures, but i dont remember any naration at all - it's more pictoral beauty than educational
4) Norway - if that's the "spirit of Norway", I don't want to visit the country

note that I'm prone to motion sickness and circle vision kind of sets you off a bit.

I'm not really sure I can pick a favorite. They are all good. Catch whichever you can, and then save the others for the next trip. I would say that the show in America is not to be missed.

Best score: France - hands down.
Best visuals: China
Most up-to-date: Canada

They're all charming, and I can't recommend missing one over the other.

I do like all of them but Canada was the one that kept me most entertained and had the edge for me.
I think the fact that we are all divided is a good sign that whichever one you see will be a good choice:goodvibes They have all made me want to go visit that country, so they are certainly doing their job:thumbsup2

By the way, no matter which show you pick (between Canada, France and China), and unless the park is exceptionally busy, my advice is don't get suckered into "waiting" for the next show. Particularly in France and Canada where there is essentially no pre-show and a fairly claustrophobic waiting area. In China, there's a museum off the theatre lobby (which you can also see seperately later) as well as some limited seating in the lobby area. But, my advice is to ask how long until the next show, and come back 5 minutes prior. No matter how big the crowds are outside, the theatres are HUGE, and I've never seen them completely full (except on the very busiest and hottest of days).

Great suggestion Chris. I agree that there's no reason to hit these early. A possible exception is America where there will be singers in the lower level just prior to the show that are really stirring to listen to.

Funny you should mention this Lori. For some reason I tear up (sometimes severely) during the Golden Dream montage. Last time we saw this, as Val & I left Val commented that we don't do it very often because we always cry and my response was we don't do it often enough. OK, so maybe I've become overly patriotic/sentimental in my old age.

Why not try all three? Maybe you have toddlers who can't sit still that long. That might make sense.

No toddlers here, just something we always skip over, and I want to be sure to do at least one this trip.

I love "Impressions de France". Consider this: It is the ONLY attraction in all of Epcot that has remained unchanged since the day the park opened in 1982. Yes, the film is a little grainy now, and parts are a little dated, but the sweeping visuals and the brilliant classical music score are timeless and enthralling. Plus, I personally love the fact that after soaring over castles and palaces and going through Versailles and Notre Dame and up the Eiffel Tower, everyone in the theatre always oohs and ahhs at the same scene... the pastry shop window. Makes me smile every time.

That is a very cool fact I did not know. I think I am sold on France, hopefully we will like it and make the time to see the others. American Adventure is always a must do for us.

Thanks to everyone for your response!!

We always watch all the movies every time we go. China is my favorite.
