Which water park?

Hi. I have three children ages, 12, 10 and 5. Which water park would you recommend? We have never been to one and am thinking of trying it this time. Do they have towels there or do we bring our own? Do you know if you can get any from your resort if you tell them where you are going or do you have to bring them from home? Just to clarify: I am not trying to steal towels I just don't know if I have to bring any from home. I don't want to get flamed. :rotfl2:

But no doubt in my mind with those ages I would do BB. The Ski Patrol area is great fun for them, the family raft ride awesome, lots of slides, and the cartoon theme can't be beat. Towels are for rent, we always take our own. Easier to spot our chairs too.

Our personal favorite has always been Typhoon Lagoon. They just added a new "coaster" type water slide there your kids might really enjoy although I haven't experienced it personally yet - it does look pretty cool. (Called the Crush'n Gusher - see HERE ) I don't think you can really go wrong with either park though (I'm not helping am I? :) )

Like the pp said, towels can be rented and they also sell Disney themed towels in the gift shops as well.

ETA: btw (and NOT to stir up controversy) I don't think anyone would stop you from taking your hotel towels however my concern personally is if they were lost at the water park the hotel might charge me for them at the end of the stay. Not sure if they are able to keep track of those things but I personally wouldn't want to risk that just because, who wants to pay for hotel towels? (lol) :goodvibes

Really you cant go wrong with either.

I will never forget on our honeymoon i was so excited to do a waterpark. DH was just so not thrilled, but went along with me. HE was like a kid in a candy store when we got there! SO EXCITED!!

Apparently the only waterpark he had ever seen is this little place an hour from where he grew up with two slides. So he thought that is what we were getting.

We did BB that time, but I have done TL too. They are both very nice. :cool2:

I HAVEN'T BEEN TO TL IN YEARS, BUT I REMEMBERING IT BEING GREAT.
ME, DH, 2BIL & SIL WENT TO BB A FEW YEARS BACK AND WE HAD THE BEST TIME! WAY MORE THAN WE WERE EXPECTING IT TO BE! I THINK THAT THE KIDS WILL LOVE BOTH, YOU CAN'T MAKE A BAD CHOICE!

Agree with HopperFann 100% about BB and the ski patrol area!

We have annual passes to the water parks. My oldest loves the ski patrol area. In fact, as soon as we arrive at the park, we ask for a locker in the ski patrol area. That way, we don't have to walk to the front of the park every time we need the locker.

I have a different take on the towels. I've seen many guests bring their resort towels. I have never seen Disney stop anyone from taking their resort towels back with them, however, depending which resort you are staying at; they are identical. I have seen CM take towels off chairs at the end of the day thinking ppl have left for the day. ONly to have families return to their seat to find their rental towels missing. Why? Because they left everything except the towels in their locker. so the CM thought they were finished and removed the towels for other guests to have the seats. I have also seen people accidently take or use towels that weren't theirs. These were towels purchased either from the Disney Store or the resort. When you see 6 of the exact same princess or Tinkerbell towel in the same area, it's difficult to tell which is yours. We usually bring our own, beat up towels from home. OR if we bring our good Disney towels, they have our names on them.

First, both parks are really cool. But our family would totally vote for Typhoon Lagoon. The water coaster is awesome and the kids loved the shark tank, we went through three times! The theme there is awesome, it's lush and feels tropical. Typhon Lagoon!
