Would you pick POP or All Star Movies?

Family members:

Dad and Mom, son19, son17, dd 14, dd12, dd5, dd4, son17 months

Previously stayed at WL. Loved the boat ride to MK and taking the monorail to Epcot from MK.(liked it better than taking the bus!)

All Star Movies!!! Has the best theming of any of the value resorts, all the cast members we encountered there were fabulous, the foodcourt was great, the pool was excellent and stayed open late, the mousekeeping made multiple towle animals for my kids each day and set them up in scenes like they were doing things. Others may have different experiences, that was mine and my families on our first trip last April. We loved it so much we joined DVC, seriously! Also think about this, when you go to Disney you want to see Mickey, Donald and the other characters. I mean really who cares about a rubiks cube, a giant big wheel, or an outdated cell phone 20 feet tall, that is the theme you get at POP. Not us anyway. I know other decades too and stuff from those times, but when I go to Disney I don't want a time machine resort I want the mouse!! :wizard: :3dglasses :cool2:

Been to both and I'd pick POP over ASMO for now. While I like the theming better at ASMO, the rooms at POP are more recent and in much better shape than the ones at ASMO.

When the ASMO rooms get a refurb I'll probably give it another try... until then it's ASMU or POP.

Having stayed at all of the All Stars, Movies is my favorite. We stayed in POP our last trip (early Aug. this year) and I loved POP!! I can honestly say that it is far and away my favorite of the values. The theming was great, the food court/store was just fine (it even had the dishes we are collecting). In addition the bus service was much better than any of the All stars. We spent 7 wonderful nights at POP and I can't wait to go back!

I favor ASMo. I don't care for the way the store and food court are combined together at POP. Too much noise for me.

We love POP - in fact we'll be there in a few short weeks! Love the theming, the food in the food court & of course the shopping............ Also we absolutely love the fact that POP doesn't share buses with another resort. We've never had to wait very long for any bus except at night returning from a park.

:woohoo: Under 20 days now.........Mickey here we come!! :woohoo: :hourglass

My thoughts exactly. I love ASMO and the rooms aren't run down, but they do need a bit of a lift.

I would have to say the ASMO has the best theme it may be dated. It's still one of :sulley:the hardest to get a room in.

I don't disagree with your love of Movies. But want to add that Pop has a huge statues of: a Mickey Mouse Phone, Mowgli and Baloo as well as Lady and the Tramp. So there is some Disney theming there as well. Its actually a nice mix of Disney and Pop Culture.

Thanks for your responses. It looks quite close. I appreciate your comments, it gives me things to think about.

Any more things to point out?
