Which value resort do you suggest for adults to hang by the pool?

We're getting in midday on a Friday and don't want to buy a ticket to the parks that day. DH really wants to just hang out by the pool and avail himself of the pool bar. We're also trying to go cheap, since this is a tacked-on-to-the-cruise bit, so I'm trying to limit us to a value. We'll be going to a park (haven't decided which!) on Saturday and leaving on the cruise on Sunday, so the only day I'm really worried about the resort amenities itself is Friday, and then only the pool.

So...does anyone have an opinion on which pool/pool bar combo at the values is most comfortable/best? Shade would be good, but whatever you can tell me would help!

Thanks,
Joye

Do they have a pool bar at the value resorts? I've never stayed at a Value, so I'm not sure. Moderates do, but not sure about values.

Pick Coronado Springs! The pool there is beautiful, huge, with a big hot tub and a poolside bar and snack bar. A great place to lounge away the day :sunny:

I would pick Pop Century. They have a bar called Petals Pool Bar just beside the Hippy Dippy Main Pool. They have plenty of chairs, shade, and very friendly bartenders. Once the pool bar closes you can walk inside to the lounge which stays open late. Pop Century is a great Value Resort and they even have dedicated express motorcoach service to the parks.

Enjoy!

ASMo had a pool bar last fall, and I'm pretty sure ASMu did as well

Another vote for Pop Century's pool bar. Friendly staff, good drinks, cool shade! :cool1:

All stars all have pools... and they are all about the same... no frills. Some chairs, not really any shade, just a pool... which is fine. If this is really important to you, I might suggest upgrading to POFQ or something similar... it will give you a better pool(s) to enjoy.
Have a wonderful time! :earsboy:

I absolutely agree with CSR, but it's a moderate. I like Pop Century for a value.

ASmo has a great pool bar too. It was very lively each night as we were coming home from the parks. :drinking1

I have to tell you that if you don't plan on going down the pool slide (I doubt you would want to POFQ), I would do Pop Century. The main pool is very nicely themed and the bar is right there.

there is also a lounge (the only value that has this) indoors that you all can enjoy in the evening for drinks/snacks...

You asked about value resort... so I would suggest POP. It has a nice pool bar and if you don't want all that sunshine... then just go inside and next to the food court, there is an area where you can lounge~ there's a bar there.

POP would be the best pool. I have stayed there at at Almu many times, and both have outdoor bars. POP is newer, and I like their pool better.

Another vote for POP!!! went april of 04 and the pool bar is right beside the main pool which is big and in a color area! I liked POP much better than all stars!

We stayed at ASMo 2 years ago, but the Fantasia Pool was down, so we went over to the Calypso pool. The pool was nice, but the pool bar was nothing to write home about.

We will be staying at Pop Century the beginning of June, and from visiting the property last week, it looks as though the pool and pool bar will be very nice and inviting. Can't wait! Only 26 more days!!!!!

Thanks to everyone for their opinions! It sounds like POP is the way to go. Though when I mentioned the dilemma to DH this morning, he seemed okay with the idea of staying the first night (the night we'd be hanging out by the pool) at a moderate or even a deluxe and then moving for the second night (since we'd be in the parks til late). But it may just be easier to stay at POP and not worry about, especially since they have that lounge...

Thanks again! I knew I could get help here!
