I am hoping to buy 2 smaller resale contracts. We are planning for early Dec trips to BR and March /April trips to BW/BC. What UY should I be looking for?

Dec UY works really well for those trips. The best UY is one that allows you to travel toward the beginning of it so that you have extra flexibility with points if you have to cancel or change a trip. All of those trips would be within the first 8 months, which means, if you did cancel more than 31 days out, you'd still be able to bank the points. If you had borrowed points, you'd still have until November 30th to rebook a trip with those points.

Now, if you think that early Dec trip would ever take place starting at the end of November, then I would look for an October UY. One thing you want to avoid is to be traveling toward the end of the UY.

I would probably buy 2UYs. October for BR and and Feb for BW/BC.
@Sandisw is spot on about travelling early in your UYs, I just have reservations about December. That is a tough time for DVC rooms. I own at BR for the purpose of going 1 of the first two weeks of December. December 2020 was tight with availability at least for studios. If you are talking early December, I'd want the ability to walk a reservation if needed, and a Dec UY may not work for that.
One other thing, if you go first week of December and arrive on a sunday, that could actually be Nov 30th or so. Just a thought to consider, I do not know exactly what you are thinking as for times.

Halloween is 2 months long at Disney, and for the most part, all of it low/lower crowds. So much flexibility for that holiday. Its a trip I tend to make, and never worry about it for that reason. If one week isnt available, Ill do another.

Christmas is Thanksgiving to Christmas, about 4 weeks , and only 2 of them that have tolerable crowds. Its a narrow window, and I would want the walking option open to me. As well as Nov. 29th, 30th,

Thank you all so much. I currently have a larger OKW contract that is a Dec UY. Keeping a Dec UY for the smaller contracts would be a bit easier. We do usually travel the second week of Dec . I think Im going to concentrate on finding the BW/BC for our spring trips with a UY of Dec or Feb. Pixie dust appreciated :)
