Which tv station are you watching tonight (CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN)?

Ryan Seacrest from Times Square was on in the background from 8 until 10. Maybe it was because of the rain, but it seemed most of the musical acts were the pre-recorded ones from Disneyland/California Adventure.

I never before heard of the woman on the street in Times Square, but she was superior to that wretched Jenny McCarthy.

10pm was a break for local news, then at 1030 we switched to Miley Cyrus/Dolly Parton. That was uneven.

1130 back to ABC because of Duran Duran. Geez, they got old. I’m glad I never married Simon LeBon. ;)

Saw the ball drop then went back to Miley/Dolly until it ended at 1230.

Watched CNN. Love seeing Anderson be silly. However, let them drink. I’m not a big drinker, but it was a hoot watching Anderson get progressively sillier. Watching them drink gross mystery drinks was……..gross.

One thing I thought was strange... DW & I were watching the OSU/Ga game. As they lined up for the final kick, I happened to look at our wall clock (that's an atomic clock) and saw it was a few seconds after midnight. I looked at the clock on my phone and it said 12:00. DW & I said "Happy New Year" to each other, then watched the kick.

This morning, I'm reading reports about how the kick started in 2022 and ended in 2023. I saw someone on Twitter who had recorded(?) or supposedly synced up a quad split of three views from the kick and the ball drop in NY. Sure enough, going by that, the kick happened at 11:59:57 and ended about 12:00:02.

I'm not sure what to think (and no, it's not a big deal). It just seemed a strange discrepancy to me. I *THINK* it's broadcasting delay? I mean nothing is truly "live" anymore.

We surfed through the channels. It was a lot of fun watching RTV1 hitting the multiple dance parties in Epcot. Kevin Hart's rant on CNN and Andy/Anderson's faces during it were gold. We did catch the end of the OSU/GA game and realized as the kick was happening that the ball was dropping... but we stayed with the kick. What an epic ending for a game! (Disclaimer: Vols fan but that GA/OSU game was crazy!) Happy New Year!

Yup. That rant alone was reason to watch.

I’m a Bama fan and Tennessee(and Bama) were robbed this year. Michigan and TCU are awful -neither team would get in if they played in the SEC.

Sorry, not sure I agree with you. Michigan went undefeated in the B1G. Michigan had DESTROYED Ohio State... who almost beat Georgia. Alabama had two losses in the SEC, as did Tennessee. The SEC's record in this year's bowl games isn't outstanding (4-5?).

TCU's only loss was in OT in the Big 12 championship. If Bama or Tenn only had one loss, you'd have a better argument. Heck, neither team even made their conference championship.

We watched CNN (love Anderson and Andy!) up until midnight NY time (we're in California so 9:00 for us). After that, the show just repeats for the next three hours. We started flipping around, looking for something interesting from 9:00 - midnight. The Dolly/Miley thing didn't look interesting, nor did the Nashville stuff or the Las Vegas stuff on the other channels. We ended up watching Dr. Pol and Friends reruns, then our local news at 11:00. There was a local NYE show from San Francisco, but I was over it by then so I basically tuned it out!

No offense …I watch way too much football. Let’s leave my heavy bias out of it …Tennessee would have beat Michigan. Comparing the B10 or B12 to the SEC is a joke. SEC teams in bowl games rarely do well -either too many key players sit out or there just is no significance in “winning” a game like the Citrus Bowl. Bama destroyed the B12 champion and the only reason they showed up was because they got snubbed ..and that was with several key players not playing the complete game. Your argument works only on “paper”…..
