Which TS should I pay out of pocket?

DH and I can't agree on this. We have more TS restaurants than we have TS credits for, and could not pick one to give up. So we moved Via Napoli to lunch, and will pay out of pocket for one of our TS meals. The TS restaurants we're planning on are:

-Morimoto Asia for a lunch (please correct me if I'm wrong, but I read that lunch counts as 1 TS credit, and not signature)
-BOG dinner
-Via Napoli lunch
-San Angel Inn
-Boma
-Cape May Cafe
-Ohana
-Rose & Crown
-Coral Reef
-Raglan Road

I say we should just look at menus, estimate totals, and pay for whichever the cheapest meal is. DH is insistent we pay for Via Napoli since it's "just pizza". My opinion- That doesn't mean it's going to be the cheapest meal though. My other thought was to pay for one of our buffet meals, since it's one set price, we'll know what to budget.

Any suggestions? Thank you!

I agree with you. VN can be a bargain OOP, but over $20 for an individual pizza isn't. If it's just the two of you, and you both plan on a pizza, maybe order a large and do half & half if you don't agree on toppings. It's a better OOP value that way. My family of 5 always gets the metro mezzo half pepperoni and half picante. I bust the "value" by getting my own prosciutto and melon ;), but they make me share.

You have the right idea. Look at the menus. Total up what you might order. Then pay OOP for the meal that will cost the least. Keep in mind that the DDP includes a dessert so if there is a meal you might not want dessert with, leave that cost off when figuring out which meal to pay OOP for.

Thank you, that's actually a really good idea. Silly question, but if it's just the 2 of us, can we just order the 1 large pie and split it? Or are we forced to purchase 2 separate entrees since our ADR is for 2?

Thank you! I'm going through menus now, and tallying estimated costs for each restaurant.

When paying OOP, you can split anything. VN is stricter when using the DDP and will require you to each order an entree/meal. Disney owned places will vary on their DDP sharing policies.

Edit: The exception to sharing are the AYCE family style and buffet meals. No sharing between patrons 3 y.o. and above! I forget that not everyone would realize this.

I agree -- look at the menus and see which one would or could be the least expensive. You might find one where you will be happy with just a couple apps to split and a salad at a particular restaurant.

I agree with you - looking at the menus makes the most sense. I think your DH will end up being correct - Via Napoli is always our cheapest meal, by far. The 4 of us share one large pizza and some bread easily. But, there's no reason not to do the math and check before settling on that.

I'll throw one more option into the mix. IF you don't decide to pay OOP at VN, you could choose two of the other a la carte places and do one of each. The person ordering the more expensive entree uses the DDP, and the other pays OOP. Then you split the dessert between you. You can do this as two different places, but VN cannot be one of them as they may not allow you to share that dessert. If you both order an individual entree, they might, but it's not worth the hassle to me.
