Hey all,
We are leaving on Sat for the world and stay till the 15th at the Hilton Bonnet Creek on points. We are looking to do a cheap spur of the moment trip. I normally plan for a year so I am very stressed this time.

We have myself DH, DS 12 DS 9 and DD8 going my DS of 18 plans to stay home.
The hotel is free staying on Points.

I get breakfast free with my status

Dinner is kids eat free.

We are getting a car with Enterprise we used Carrentalsavings.com (Got that tip from thetransportation board) we are paying 205 for a Full size car.

Airline tickets ended up being a little over 130 per ticket round trip.

So what I need help on is tickets. We are thinking of just doing the water parks to keep the cost low. I thought I read somewhere that DVC members which we are get a discount on the annual pass is that true or not true? I just got off the phone with a cast member and they sad No. :sad2:

The other thing to keep in mind is that I am planning a trip in November 2012 also for 10 days. What should I do? Anyone really good at maximizing the value of park tickets. I would be glad to return the favor and answer questions about other discounts but this is where I need to educate myself better.

Oh I worry the clock is ticking and I am surfing hoping for some pixie dust to tell me what to do.

Thanks all!!!

There is a DVC AP that is $100 less than regular price. But I think you are referring to a water park AP? If so, no there is no DVC water park AP discount. I think there is a single day discount put not sure as I never buy a WP single day.

EDIT-How many days are you planing on going to the water parks this trip?

According to the "Everything About WDW Tickets" sticky (here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684 ) there is no discount for DVC members for the water park APs. However, even at $100 per adult, I think it's a pretty good deal since a 1-day ticket is about $50.

One benefit to only doing the water parks is that it's free to park there, so you wouldn't have to pay the $14/day that you pay at the theme parks.

With several days in the area, you could do the water parks, visit the Boardwalk one night, go to the Polynesian one night and watch Wishes from the beach, go to the campfire and movie at Fort Wilderness, and go to DTD.

If you have time to kill, maybe do one of the timeshare visits to get a day's admission to a Disney park. I personally wouldn't, as I hate that kind of thing, but hey, to get a Disney ticket, I might if I really really wanted to go! :)

If you are going for 10 days in Nov. it might be worth it go ahead and get park AP's now (if your budget can handle it). You can save a bit more off the DVC-AP price by buying a discount ticket from UT or AAA and then upgrading it. Usual savings this way is $20-30. per person depending on the ticket.

Now what I would do is expensive on the front end, but would save you money in the long haul. If you purchase 10 day non-expiring WFandM tickets now (I would buy from Undercover Tourist through the Mousesavers link to get the best deal -- usually about $33 off gate price), then you would have TEN visits to water parks or DisneyQuest that never expire plus TEN visits to the four major theme parks. Not only could that last you for this trip AND your next trip, but you'll still have five or so visits to water parks to keep. I would even stretch out my ten days in November so that some of the days are non-theme park days too (so you can save those days for another trip).

Each ticket is $574.90 right now ($555.90 for your children under 10 and YES, that child can still use that ticket when they are over the age as long as they started to use it when they were under age 10).

Whatever you decide, have fun! :wizard:

They are going in November of 2012. Bad idea. :sad2:

Forgot about the poly to watch wishes good idea. Maybe we will do the timeshare thing.
Can you upgrade the annual wp pass to a premium annual pass?

This is a great idea. We always get the 10 day, non expiring, PH, with Water Parks and more. We can stretch them over 2-3 trips, especially the and more options.

Since you are going this month and then again in Nov. 2012, getting an AP doesn't make sense since it won't be valid in Nov. 2012 (as PP pointed out)

I'm pretty sure you can, but the time will start from the first day you used the wp annual pass ticket. So probably not a good idea for this trip.

DVC does have a discount on the waterpark single day tickets, but not the WP annual pass option.

The best option if you can afford it is 10 day nonexpiring ticket that PP mentioned.

However it works out, I'm sure you'll have a fun time!

On Mousesavers newsletter link the MYW non hopping base is $254 for the 5 or 6 day pass. That is the least exp option I found. The one day $85.

Sometimes searching around you can find multiple day entry at Universal for a lot less.

Also some other activities, dinner show for the Stallions, Old town, Medievil Knights dinner show. DTD, Check out the resorts, Can you get into the Contempory hotel for Character dinner?

Have fun.
