Hi all. We are going to Orlando the last week of August. We had a big family trip (4 of us) to Disney planned. My husband just found out that he won't be able to take that week off from work. :-( So we are thinking of making this a Girls Only trip with me and my 2 daughters (23 & 20). We are staying at Bonnet Creek, so will make it mostly a resort trip by hanging at the lazy river, water slides, etc. Plus shopping and dinner out. However, my older DD is a Harry Potter nut. We've been to the older HP area and did Forbidden Journey, etc. So we are thinking of doing 1 day at Universal to see the new HP area. I'm trying to decide on tickets.

I see through Undercover Tourist we could get the following:
1 day Park-to-Park $455
2 day Park-to-Park $592
2 day base with 2 bonus days $492

It seems very tempting to do the 4 day base tickets because of the value. But we would miss riding the Hogwarts Express. Is it worth it? We are mainly interested in the Harry Potter theming and don't really care about the rest of the parks. We haven't ever done Despicable Me, or Transformers, though.

So my question, should we get the 4 day ticket and miss the Hogwarts Express? Or should we do the 1 day park to park and focus on Harry Potter which would include the Hogwarts Express? How much would it cost to add park-to-park if we get the 4 day base ticket from Undercover Tourist?

Thanks for your help. I don't have much time to plan for this since it is a sudden change to our plans.

do the math and see if you bought UT 4 day passes what the difference would be for the power pass.
that would allow you to park hop each day.

the darkside can bridge the tickets to a pass for additional money.
do that once you are inside the park at the guest service building.

or buy the ond day p2p and upgrade additional days if you don't plan to spend 4 of your vacation days at the darkside.
by what you said, dont know long you plan to stay on vacation at BC.

check out the current thread that others posted about the costs when bridging the UO tickets.

We will be in town for over a week. We arrive Sat. the 22nd (well, my older daughter is coming on the 23rd at 9:35 am due to an engagement party on the 22nd she wanted to attend). We leave on Sun. the 30th. So we have the time.

So if I bought the 2+2 tickets from Undercover Tourist:

UT 4 day ticket = $163.73
Gate Price 4 day ticket = $202.34
Power Pass = $255.59

So if we upgrade at the park to a power pass it would be $53.25 per ticket?

the power pass block out is lifted on the 14th so you are good with them.

Yes. Those numbers should be very close to what you are charged. Remember to upgrade INSIDE the park after you have used your tickets at least once.

If you DD is a Harry Potter nut - I would say it would be a shame to miss the Hogwarts Express. Seeing it for the first time and walking through the platform 9 3/4 etc... she just might cry. Go for the power pass... then if you want to go back you can. The other parts of the park are fun too!

I agree. I am a Harry Potter nut and I need to be on that platform! Definitely not going to miss...oh, and the boys are excited too. :hyper2:

Will probably have to do park-to-park for our quick 2 day distraction from wdw...

When we were in London, we went to Kings Cross Station. They have a trolley going halfway into the wall there. And she went to the Harry Potter film set museum in London.
