We are planning an October trip to just relax and hang out by the pool and then go out for dinner and maybe a drink or two. Which studio do you think will work best. OKW, has 2 beds but only one restaurant. Boardwalk has alot going on in the area but how are the pools?? I've never stayed at BWV before. Animal Kingdom seems far away from everything.

Help!

Thanks.

Both are my favorites and each has pros and cons. However, I hope you are talking about October 2012, because there is slim pickings if you're talking about October 2011. If you are planning an October 2011 trip, you need to get on the phone now and see what, if anything, is left. I've seen some recent post of folks calling for October to find nothing available for their timeframe. Good luck!! I think once you find out what's available, that might help you decide where you might want to stay.

OKW is our favourite - chose for trips with my own sis, but not just for the 2 beds - most relaxing place, most of the time we don't even realize we're in WDW - and as far as dinners, we love taking the boat to Downtown and choose from many of the restaurants there. The quiet pool at Turtle Pond road is the best spot to relax as well - there's a hot tub, snack bar and refillable mug location there without the hub-bub of the main pool. We'll be there at the end of October and I can't wait!

but you are only a very pleasant boat ride away from DD with many dining (and shopping) options.

If going for the 2 beds, I would definitely go for OKW. The boat trip to DTD is really enjoyable and there are so many choices there. And, if you choose to go to one of the other resorts, you just jump on a bus at DTD and go wherever you want to go.

While I do like OKW for relaxing, I really love AKV-Kidani. :thumbsup2 The AKL complex has some wonderful restaurants and you're very close to the Rain Forest Cafe at AK. And the bus rides to other areas really aren't that long. Getting where you are going is half the fun.

If you want another idea for an activity, look at the Wilderness Backwoods Segway Tour. It leaves from Fort Wilderness Campground and goes through the campground and the woods, over to the Wilderness Lodge, and along Bay Lake. It's about 1 1/2 hours and is absolutely wonderful - I plan to do it next time I am there. I didn't know the others on my tour, but we all had a good time.

Have a wonderful time! :goodvibes

I would pick AKV, and if it's in the future, I would try to book Concierge. DSis and I love AKV, and she uses the amenities of the steam room and sauna. I love relaxing at the resort and watching the animals, and talking to the CMs from different countries. We could easily spend a week there!

That's the same one I'd pick, and if you're not able to or want to pick concierge, I'd still stay there. I've usually stayed in a value studio there and I rarely go to the parks when I'm there, there's just so much to do! Great activities right at the resort and great for watching the animals either from the room or from the Sunset Lounge off the lobby.

I agree that DSis and I would go, concierge level or not. It's just that our April trip included concierge and boy, she and I had a great time.

depends on whether you're cool with glowing clown eyes...

Thanks so much for all the input. The only place that I could get all the days was OKW so I debated and then decided since I could get an ocean view inn room that we'd go to Vero Beach. We have to rent a car to drive over, wish they had magical express! It's nice to know that AKV is a nice option. I was worried that it was kind of out of the way. Will do the concierge level some day.

Thanks for the tip on the Segway tour. My son and son-in-law have been wanting to do the tour at Epcot but this is a nice alternative. I didn't even know about it.

I love that you can ask a question here and have people get you the answers.
