Which stroller to take?

We are taking DS to WDW in about 3 1/2 weeks.
We have the Safety 1st Avila stroller and our Graco stroller (part of travel system) I am not sure which to take. The Avila doesn't totally recline...it semi-reclines...
Any thoughts?

I don't know how old your DS is, but if he can sit up by himself, I would most likely say leave your stroller at home and rent the strollers at the parks. I say that because it'll be less you'll have to travel with and with the rental strollers you don't have to worry about someone ripping you off. I would much rather have someone take my rental stroller than have someone walk off with a real nice stroller that I have brought from home.

Just something to think about . . .

He is only 2 months...definitely will not be sitting up by the time we go!

Please put the thought of stroller theft way in the back of your mind. We have brought strollers numerous times including recently with our Maclaren Twin Traveler. And if you read through numerous other threads stroller theft is really not a concern. What happens many times is rentals are taken by mistake because they are all the same and people don't check the names. My advice bring what is most comfortable for your little one.

I would definitely take the Graco... it might be more bulky and a bit more hassle, but your little one will be a lot more comfy being able to lay back.

I'd say bring whichever your son will be most comfy in. Both of mine seemed to prefer stroller sleeping with a slight incline rather than totally flat once they were a couple of months old. It looks like your DS is 3 months, right? If he likes sleepiong totally flat, bring the Graco. If it doesn't matter then bring the lighter weight one.

I too would say don't worry about stroller theft. I'm sure it happens but it is VERY VERY rare. We've seen plenty of very pricey strollers on our trips and they were all left alone with no problems. I even leave my diaper bag with mine most of the time. I do make sure there is nothing of value in it, just diapers, wipes and snacks but it has never been messed with at all left on the stroller.

I wouldn't even consider using a rental stroller for a 3 month old - they are completley unsuitable. I wouldn't use one with a child under 3 or 4, they are hard plastic and pretty horrible. for such a young baby I would take your big stroller - a bit more hassle for transport, but worth it's weight in gold once you are there.

Not certain if you are driving or flying to WDW. We have noticed folks having a struggle with larger strollers on-and-off WDW buses. The "umbrella" style strollers seem to work best.

John Dobbertin said it exactly right. The bus transportation system is great if you don't have small kids/babies and a stroller, etc. We now stay at monorail resorts because we can just roll our stroller on and off the monorail without having to fold it up, etc. We have twins, and therefore a Graco duo glider. We would not go to WDW without it. We find it extremely important that our babies are happy -- and they are only happy if they are comfy. Plus, we can recline the seats and they take naps in the stroller. Take whichever stroller is more comfortable for your baby and consider staying at a monorail resort!

We took our Graco Glider to WDW last week and had no problems. It was slightly annoying to fold it up every time we got on a bus, but that slight annoyance was more than worth it so we could have our own reclining comfy stroller for DD. We only took two bags, the diaper bag and video camera bag, with us, so when we went on a ride we would just take the small video camera bag with us and leave the diaper bag in the stroller. We didn't keep anything valuable in it, just diapers, wipes, sunscreen, a hat, and a change of clothes so we weren't worried about it. The diaper bag hung off the handle and the video camera slid into the bottom basket so it was a very comfortable situation for us and I'm glad we brought the stroller. We'll be bringing it again the next time we go, without hestitation.

Take the bigger stroller - your DS will be more comfortable in it. At such a young age, he needs more support than any umbrella type stroller will provide. Don't worry about the buses - it's worth the hassle for the little guy's comfort. Have a great time!

Yeah...strollers aren't that bad in the parks. We used the bigger Graco last year and no one stole it! That's absurd. The rental strollers look uncomfortable and haw many kids have been in them? There are no cushions...just hard plastic.

We are going this year and buying a smaller umbrella stroller - but one with a tray and that reclines.
