We have sph room 5020 for our Oct. western cruise. Would like to know others report for the best sph rooms.

While staying in 5020 I stuck my head in 5022 and 5024 (cleaning time is a great to tour the ship) and 5020 definately has less obstruction (and isn't connecting). I've read in another thread that 5520 (the equiv. of 5020 on the starboard side) might have better scenery on the 7-day Western, but I can't remember why!

Whichever one is available! Hey, it's a free window.

Barb and anyone else who may be in the know,

Have you been in both 5020 and 5520. What would be the reasons to pick one over the other on the 4 day Wonder cruise? I've read various posts about 5520 being in the hot sun for lifeboat drill. But that 5520 has a better view of the islands when pulling up and docking. But, I also see some posts that 5020 has the better nonobstructed view. From your website and other pics, it looks like the barrells may be lower in 5020?

Also, from looking at the deck plans, are the only open doors into the lab/clubs on the starboard side? Would it be easier walking to the clubs from 5520? Or more noise/travel on that side?

Thanks!

I see that Barb's website is not showing up in her post. I tried posting it once for someone, and it did the same thing to me. Why is this happening?

BTW, we stayed in 5520 and loved it (beautiful view of CC as we pulled in). In September we have 5020, so after that I will have an opinion on which is better.

westjones,

when in 5520 were you in the sun for the life boat drill? and does that side have easier access to the clubs? the deck plans appear like the port side only has the walls to the clubs, so it looks like you have to walk around to the starboard side to get into the clubs? Am I right? Or are there doors to the clubs on the port side also, just not marked on the deck plans?

You are on deck 4 for the drill, so there is a deck floor above you to help shade, but the sun does shine in on you some (and it is hot).

As for getting to things quicker, I don't think there is a huge difference. Both rooms are close to the stairs, but 5020 would be a little closer to the hall that leads to the kids clubs and the movie theater. Nothing worth moving for though. Both are in quiet hallways with very few rooms (which means few people walking by your room).
