Which Savanna room view has the best view of the Giraffes?

Hi all,

hoping some of you may be able to help. We have booked a savanna view with a king bed for animal kingdom lodge and are incredibly excited. Though we have heard that you can see the giraffes more at one of the savannas compared to the other or is it evenly spread out ? If this is true what would be the best room to request? I understand that requests Are never guaranteed!

Congrats on your upcoming trip! I do not have the answer to your question. I stayed at AKL once, and I thought the building was in the shape of a horseshoe, overlooking the Savannah. My room was about mid-horseshoe. There were lots of animals, including giraffes, and I'm sure they were all visible from all rooms. Since they can move around freely, animals are never guaranteed.

Having stayed at AKL numerous times, my only advice is to ask for the lowest floor possible. On the Sunset Savannah there are 2nd-floor rooms, which, to me, have the best view. There may be 2nd-floor rooms on Arusha as well. Not sure.

As others have said, there's no guarantee about what animals you'll see. A lot depends on when you're in your room and awake and looking. But I'm pretty sure there are giraffes on every savanna.

And I'm totally sure that I wish I were going with you!!

If you face the back of the resort we stayed in the wing to the right and had excellent views all the time. They seemed to like the area. But that was 2012.

I believe you're describing the Sunset Savanna.

BTW, OP, you may have no say in where your room is. You can ask at check-in, but your room will depend on what's available at the time. That being said, I've had very good luck there getting a great room, including times when they put me somewhere I was convinced wouldn't be so great and it turned out to be awesome.
