Hey guys...I really need your help! My friends and I are planning a trip to WDW in the future and we really need to get a jump-start on planning this thing :) We've actually gotten a lot done, but it all came to a grinding halt when it came to picking our hotel room. One of us wants to stay at the Animal Kingdom, another likes the Grand Floridian, and two others like the Contemporary, but one wants to stay in a standard tower room while the other wants to stay in a concierge room. My question to y'all is: Which one would you pick? I, personally, am the one who wants the concierge Contemporary but my friend argues with me, saying that she'd rather spend more $$ on souvenirs and recreation than the amenities a concierge room offers. To be honest, $$ isn't really THAT big of a deal for this trip since we have so much time to save up. Except for the concierge vs. standard thing we have going, we're mainly looking at which hotel would offer the best experience during our stay. Any input will be GREATLY appreciated.
I'm new to these boards, so I'm hoping to meet a lot of Disney fanatics like myself :) Sorry this post was kind of lengthy, but I really need your help! Thanks!

It sounds like you will all really need to prioritize what it is that you each need and what you like about each location. If being on the monorail is important than the GF or Cont is the way to go, if your really into the animals, the feel for being outside of everything than the AKL is the way to go.

Really you can;t go wrong with any of the choices on the whole, but it really depends on what you want.

Welcome to the DIS - you did a great job on your first post - dscovering pink font colour and smiley faces so soon! :)

The first thing you have to do is decide where you want to stay - personally I love Animal Kingdom Lodge - it is a totally unique and wonderful resort. But I admit that the GF and CR and very handy being on the monorail.

Once you have decided your hotel take a look at the rates for your time period - find the total $ and see how much you have to save per person.

Make a deal that if that price goes down (ie) sales, specials, discount codes etc.. you will switch to concierge- remind your friends that breakfast, beverages (ie) bottled water & soda is included along with snacks, appetizers & wine in the evening and desserts and cordials. This amounts to a fair bit of money saved over buying it yourself.

Good luck deciding and have fun planning your trip.

Depending on how long you will be there you could always do a split stay as well;)

You could do a few nights at CR and a few nights at AKL. That way you all get a little of everything.

How about the a room on the Contemporary Club Floor. I beleive that's partial concierge. (anyone, am I right? I've never actually stayed there LOL)
