Which rides to take 40 inch DD on?

DD will be almost 5 when we visit DL for 2 days in February, and she just hit 40 inches. She wants to go on ALL the rides that she is tall enough for, even TOT. My question is: would you feel comfortable taking a very petite almost-5-year-old on all of the 40" rides? I got a little nervous when I read a couple of Thunder Mountain reviews in which people commented that they felt like their little ones were going to fly out. My thinking is that it probably only feels that way and no way would Disney expose themselves to liability by setting their height limits too low. Am I right? And of course I will be sitting right next to her and holding on to her the whole time.

My son was 3.5 when he hit 40 when we went on our 2nd family trip in 2013 and he went on all the rides he could. By no means would I say TOT was his favorite ride but when presented with the option to stay behind with Gramma or go again, he choose go again every single time! :cool1:

Disney rides are super safe, as they have built their reputation on it and enforce their height requirements very firmly.

That said if your daughter is willing I would say go for it! You will never know until you try!

Have a magical time!

We take my 4 year old daughter on Big Thunder all the time. She's been riding it since she was 2 and a half. She stays in just fine and it's easily her favorite ride.

I have never taken her on TOT, but I think that's more about my objections with the ride than hers. She's not keen on Space Mountain or Star Tours. I think she believes she is actually flying through space which scares here a little. She's scared of the snowman on the Matterhorn, but other than that we ride all rides she is tall enough for.

Thanks! In my head, I knew it must be safe, but I just wanted to find out about others' experiences. DD is a really brave little girl (much braver than I was at her age), and I wouldn't want to discourage her from going on any rides that she feels ready for. She can't wait to try out all the big kid rides!

My granddaughter hit 40" at 2.5 years. She is now 3.5 and the only ride we don't take her on is TOT. She loves Space, Star Tours, Soarin', BTMRR, Matterhorn, Goofy's Sky Skool (she is 43" now) and everything else. But Monster's Inc is still her favorite.

If she (and you) are willing, I'd let her try. We are waiting on TOT til daddy is with us.
