Which Rides Tend to Have Short / Fast Moving Lines?

What started out as a one day trip is now going to be 3 days at DLR. We will have three day hoppers and will be @ DLR (staying at Candy Cane Inn) on Aug 5 (T), 6 (W) & 7 (Th). Since we will only be able to arrive at park opening on the Wednesday and Thursday of our visit I am trying to maximize our time on the Tuesday when we will arrive around 2 pm (breaking around 5:30 pm as we have a PS @ Goofy's Kitchen). I am assuming by 2pm many FP will be gone so I wonder which rides we can still do with minimal wait. We also plan to do the Fireworks, Fantasmic and the Electric Parade @ DCA (going to do EP on Th) so I was wondering if Tuesday was a good day to do the Fireworks and Fantasmic (or is better to the Fireworks one night and Fantasmic another). Thank you in advance for answering my questions, I am so excited about going back to DL after so many years and now taking my dd's and Dh (who have only been to WDW) to experience the place where all the magic began.:wizard:

You can still probably get a FP for rides like Big Thunder or Buzz, but you are right in that Space, Splash, and Indy FPs will probably be gone or have very late return times. However you never know, so it doesn't hurt to look.

As for rides that usually have short/fast moving lines definitely ride Pirates and Haunted Mansion. Both have huge capacities and their lines move extremely fast even if it looks long. Also Jungle Cruise and the Mark Twain Riverboat. You can try any of the "show attractions" such as the Tiki Room or Honey I Shrunk the Audience because their theaters hold a lot. For Fantasyland rides try Snow White or Pinocchio, both do not usually have lines over 20 min at any part of the day. Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

By the way, definitely make use of your one Magic Morning (early entry) you got with your 3-day hoppers. You'll be able to use it on Thursday. That's the best time to see all the Fantasyland rides in one uncrowded hour, plus Space Mt. and Buzz. Enjoy!

May I suggest RideMax: www.ridemax.com

You tell it the day and times you're going and what rides you want to experience and it prints you an itinerary telling you the optimum times to get FPs and get in line for each ride. It's awesome!

Just got Ridemax and I love it! The only thing is you still have to know which rides you want to do each day but I guess when it tells me the expected wait times I can always tweak it.

I second all the advice above (esp making use of MM. It's amazing what you can get done in that hour!). Also consider Star Tours, Casey Jr., & Pooh. Even if Star Tours shows a longer wait, the line keeps moving pretty nicely and the sights in line are pretty interesting, esp for kids.

We were there in early july. We never got a fast pass for Big Thunder, and never waited for more than 15 minutes (and rode it many, many times).

Other rides we did.. when we wanted to have a short wait were:

Haunted Mansion
Pirates
Jungle Cruise

At the end of our final night we were able to walk onto splash mountain twice, without fast passes.

In Fantasyland we walked onto Casey's train, DS6 picked it.. for a tame ride between coasters, and I have to say, it was better than I expected!

We also walked onto the teacups and dumbo, but, I think we just lucked out there.

Star Tours said 20 minute wait EVERY time we walked by it, for our entire trip. So, that would be another short wait.

I've found HM and Pirates to move along quickly.

Is just Fantasyland open during MM? Can you get Fastpasses or does it just have the regular return times?
