Hi friends...
I'm trying to get a list of the rides or shows that can take large numbers quickly...where we should go during the lunchtime or afternoon hours. Any suggestions whould be appreciated!
I'm also following the tour guides in the unofficial guide...would you recommend buying the guides online too for your phone?
Thanks

Pirates seems to be the fastest. I went on the day that Jack Sparrow first appeared and the line was crazy out to the walkway but it only took 30 minutes to wait.

But this is what we do:

We start with opening at DL. Then around lunch we go to DCA. Maybe eat a quiet lunch at Whitewater Snacks. (Of course pick up a FP before you leave DL and one as you arrive to DCA. We usually get a FP for Soarin first).
The Muppet Show and It's Tough to be a Bug are some good shows for the afternoon. Aladdin, of course is must see if it is running that day. Since we don't rush over to DCA when it opens, we found the best time for Toy Story to be between 2 and 6pm. The line got shorter at that time than it had been during the morning. We will grab a FP for Screamin when we can, go back and use the one for Soarin, and do Screamin when we can. And then the line for Monsters should be down so we do that. Sometimes we hop over to DL to pick up some more FPs and then come back. Just depends.

By now it is close to dinner and we head back to DL and use the FPs we collected earlier that morning. When all the big rides have FP return times too late for us, we just get Buzz FPs and can get on that one in about 5 min.

Anyway, that is a rough outline of what we do. Some people go back to the hotel for a couple of hours and take a nap if they plan to stay at the parks until midnight.

Hope that made some sense and helped a little. :)

Great! I don't know about apps because I have an itouch and there is no wireless in the parks so I couldn't use wait time apps. I do have the eticket app because I can easily get on Disboards with it. It has a map marked with all locations of different things but I haven't tried it out at DLR yet.

Some rides are called "afternoon fillers" which means they can be fit in pretty much any time.

At DL

Tiki Room
Mark Twain
SS Columbia
PLATSI
Innoventions

At DCA

ITTBAB
Animation Studios and Turtle Talk w Crush

Sometimes these rides get longer lines (over 30 minutes) but usually they are under that

At DL

POTC
HM
IASW
Winnie the Pooh
BLAB

At DCA

ToT
CA Screamin
Monsters Inc
Maliboomer
TSMM late afternoon

-Pirates
-Haunted Mansion
-Jungle Cruise
-Winnie-the-Pooh
-Shop on Main Street (the shops are empty in the afternoon compared to at night)
-Any of the 3D shows (except maybe EO when it returns)
-Most of the DCA rides, except the major attractions (ToT, Screamin, Soarin, TSMM, and GRR will probably have long lines, but any thing else)

Our new afternoon favorite is "great moments with Mr. Lincoln" and we always love the train, tomorrowland station is usually least full :goodvibes

With a FP you can ride "those" rides even at the busiest times. Collect them in the morning for use later in the day during the busy times.

Great moments with Mr Lincoln, and I am guessing the Sleeping Beauty walk through? Of course the best idea is hopping to DCA!

When the celebrate parade is in front of Its a Small World, the ride has no line..you just walk on :)
